Projects in March

(Baonghean) - During the crucial days of March - Youth Month 2015, we visited the highland villages of Tuong Duong, where meaningful green projects were underway, creating a bustling and urgent atmosphere. Our first stop was Canh Trap village, Tam Thai commune, where youth union members from 8 village branches, totaling over 120 young people, were working diligently to complete a key project for Youth Month.

The rice fields are being neatly prepared and the rows of green trees have been meticulously planted and cared for by youth union members at the newly built school, with over 300 trees. The joint efforts of the youth union members promise a bountiful harvest and create a clean, green, and beautiful campus for this new school. Lo Minh Trung, from the Canh Trap village youth union branch in Tam Thai commune, enthusiastically shared: “As a youth union member, I, like my comrades in the branch, am committed to contributing our youthful energy to the movement and participating in the projects undertaken by the branch. This year's Youth Month has many more meaningful activities and projects for us.”

Leaving Tam Thai, we headed up to Luong Minh commune, where more than 500 youth union members from the village branches were working diligently to complete the inter-village road project, connecting Xop Mat village to Cham Puong village. Laughter and singing mingled, shortening the construction time. In a short time, more than 17 km of previously rocky, winding mountain paths have been leveled by the youth union members, allowing motorbikes to travel smoothly. In Tam Quang commune, in Tung Huong and Lien Huong villages, we also felt the youthful energy on the volunteer projects: the old dirt football fields have been replaced with cement-paved fields, built to the correct specifications, with construction costs exceeding 10 million VND donated by the Youth Union and benevolent individuals in the commune.

With the theme "Tuong Duong Youth Proudly Marching Forward Under the Party Flag," the 2015 Youth Month showcased practical projects and activities imbued with the volunteer spirit of Tuong Duong's youth, demonstrating their role and responsibility in participating in activities for the development of this mountainous district. In addition to projects such as leveling inter-village roads by the youth branches of Luong Minh commune, constructing inter-commune rural roads in three communes along the river, and building volleyball courts at various grassroots youth branches, the program also launched the "Bowl of Compassion" program every Saturday for poor patients at the district's general hospital.

Rushing towards the final days and hours to achieve their set goals, the March projects and activities of the youth of Tuong Duong have demonstrated a meaningful movement closely linked to the local reality and the spirit of working together for the community, contributing to a better life for the ethnic people here!
