Public places where smoking is prohibited

Furthermore, passive smoking is one of the factors that cause many diseases such as cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, reduces respiratory functions and affects reproductive functions of both men and women. Therefore, regulations on banning smoking in public places are very necessary.
The ban on smoking in public places also ensures public hygiene and prevents cigarette butts from being left scattered and making public places unsanitary.
According to the Law on Prevention of Tobacco Harms, places where smoking is completely prohibited include:
1. Places where smoking is completely prohibited indoors and within the premises include: Medical facilities; Educational facilities, except for the facilities specified in Point b, Clause 2 of this Article; Facilities for care, nurturing, recreation and entertainment exclusively for children; Facilities or areas with high risk of fire and explosion.
2. Places where smoking is completely prohibited indoors include: Workplaces; Colleges, universities, academies; Public places, except for the cases specified in Clause 1 of this Article and Clause 1 of Article 12 of this Law. Means of public transport where smoking is completely prohibited include cars, airplanes, and trains.
Places where smoking is prohibited indoors but designated smoking areas are allowed:
1. Places where smoking is prohibited indoors but designated areas for smokers are allowed include: Airport isolation areas; Bars, karaoke bars, dance clubs, hotels and tourist accommodation establishments; Public transport such as ships and trains.
2. Areas designated for smokers must ensure the following conditions: Have rooms and ventilation systems separate from non-smoking areas; Have tools to contain cigarette butts and ashes; have signs in suitable, easily observable locations; Have fire prevention and fighting equipment.
3. Encourage the head of the location specified in Clause 1 of this Article to organize the implementation of a completely smoke-free indoor environment.
4. The Government shall prescribe the conversion of the locations in Clause 1 of this Article into locations where smoking is completely prohibited indoors in accordance with each period./.
