(Baonghean.vn) - With its long history, picturesque landscapes, and numerous historical sites and scenic spots, Thanh Chuong district is not only famous for its revolutionary traditions and studiousness, but also an attractive destination for tourists on their journey to explore the western part of Nghe An province.

Cau Cau Tea Island, located in the Thanh An and Thanh Thinh communes (Thanh Chuong district), has long been dubbed the "Ha Long Bay of Nghe An" thanks to its picturesque landscape of lush green mountains and clear blue waters, with unique characteristics rarely found elsewhere. This is an irrigation lake built in 1963 to provide water for agricultural production in the three communes of Thanh An, Thanh Thinh, and Thanh Chi. The Bach Ma Temple boasts a magnificent architectural structure with many components such as the triple-arched gate, ceremonial gate, lower, middle, and upper halls, and waiting areas. The main hall of the temple features intricately carved wooden frames, creating exquisite works of art. The temple has been recognized as a National Historical Monument. Vo Liet Temple – a National Historical Monument in Vo Liet commune – was built in 1859 and is one of the largest temples in the province. The main temple consists of four enclosed buildings forming the shape of the Chinese character "口" (mouth), with the upper part being a unique eight-roofed structure. Here, two stele houses are preserved, containing six large stone slabs recording the names, addresses, and other details of 455 scholars, graduates, and doctors from Vo Liet district, from the Le dynasty to the Nguyen dynasty. The Dang Cao Palace in Dai Dong commune was built in the 16th century to worship three historical figures: Grand Tutor and Duke of Tan Quoc Nguyen Canh Hoan, Duke of Cuong Quan Nguyen Canh Van, and Deputy Marquis Nguyen Canh Yen – all of whom made significant contributions to the country during the late Le Dynasty. Also in Dai Dong commune, the Nguyen Viet family ancestral temple is a unique work of art, possessing a rare and ancient beauty in Nghe An. Built during the Nguyen dynasty, the temple consists of two main structures: the lower hall and the rear hall. The lower hall, a three-bay, two-gable structure, most fully showcases the beauty of ancient sculptural art, demonstrating a high level of skill and artistry in its themes, ideas, and expressive lines.
