(Baonghean.vn) - The opening matches of the 2021 V.League National Championship took place with one surprising match after another. In which, the top candidates for the championship all "fell" to teams that were rated lower.
V.League makes the world jealous
The opening round at Thien Truong Stadium saw 16,000 spectators creating a vibrant atmosphere that any country in the world would envy. In addition, Thong Nhat Stadium also had nearly 15,000 spectators coming to the stadium directly.
According to statistics from the tournament's Organizing Committee, the opening round of V.League 2021 welcomed more than 60,000 spectators across all stadiums across the country. Of which, Nam Dinh's Thien Truong Stadium welcomed the largest number of fans with 16,000 people, followed by Thong Nhat Stadium for the Saigon - HAGL match with 14,500 people. Surprisingly ranked 3rd was SHB Da Nang's Hoa Xuan Stadium with 12,000 people.

While Vietnam has started the new season, other countries in Southeast Asia have yet to set a return date due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, the Thai League continues to be postponed until the end of January, while Malaysia also plans to start the new season in February. In Indonesia, after nearly a year of postponement of the national championship, the government has not yet allowed football matches to be held.
The "giants" disappoint
Coming to V.League 2021,Hanoi Clubis the reigning champion of the National Cup, champion of the National Super Cup but unexpectedly lost 0-3 right at Thien Truong Stadium to Nam Dinh. Meanwhile, Viettel, the champion of the tournament last season, lost 1-0 to Hai Phong Club.

Even HAGL with the presence of coach Kiatisuk and stars playing for the national team such as Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Van Toan, who received a lot of expectations, also lost 0-1 to Saigon FC at Thong Nhat Stadium.
