For customers who sell their cars to others, they only need to lock their identification cards to preserve the balance in their accounts. Customers can do this themselves through the automatic toll collection application (the automatic toll collection application has a function that allows customers to lock the cards of vehicles on their own traffic accounts) or call the hotline to meet a consultant to request support to lock the card again. After buying a new car, just take the car to the automatic toll collection service points to stick the card and request to put the new car into the old account on the system.

For customers who buy a car and see that it has an identification card, to use the service, they can bring their personal documents and vehicle documents to toll stations with automatic toll collection services to complete the procedure to convert the car's card to their own traffic account (if they do not have a traffic account, they must open a new account). Avoid the situation of depositing money before converting, the money will go to the old owner's account. Then just deposit money into the new traffic account and go to the automatic toll lane to use the service.

There are currently 2 service providers: VETC Automatic Toll Collection Company Limited and VDTC Vietnam Digital Traffic Joint Stock Company. The identification cards of both units can be circulated through non-stop automatic toll stations nationwide, so customers can choose any company to register for the service.

Each car can only have one type of non-stop toll card. If the car owner intentionally has two cards from two service providers, an error will occur when moving through the station. Because the scanner will not be able to accurately identify the vehicle and account.

Vehicle owners who need to apply a sticker, with the card provided by VETC, can go to inspection centers and toll stations. With the card provided by VDTC provided by Viettel, vehicle owners can go to stores in the Viettel Store system.

For vehicles that have been tagged and automatically circulated free of charge through Ben Thuy Toll Station for a long time (locally exempted vehicles), people do not need to affix another tag but only need to pay directly or via electronic banking into the traffic account to be able to circulate nationwide.

What documents do I need to bring to use automatic toll collection?

Regarding the necessary documents to bring, include: ID card/Citizen ID card/Passport (original or notarized copy); Vehicle registration (original or notarized copy and still valid); Vehicle inspection (original or notarized copy and still valid). Bank loan papers (if the vehicle is paid in installments, it must have confirmation from the bank).

If you are a corporate customer, you will need a Business Registration Certificate, an Account Opening Application form available on the website/application or a registration form at the card sticker locations; if you are a State agency, you will need a request letter and an establishment decision. And the ID card/Citizen ID card/Passport of the representative or authorized person (a photocopy or a notarized copy that is still valid), and a Power of Attorney (if not the representative). In addition, vehicle owners can register for the automatic toll sticker service at home.

After the service provider has affixed the card, to use it, the vehicle owner needs to download the application to their smartphone. Similar to other applications, after downloading, they will be instructed on how to install and use it. The application will have basic information such as vehicle information, account balance, date and time of travel through each station, fee of each station and other relevant information.
