Vo Thi Cam is 54 years old this year, registered permanent residence in block 8, Do Luong town. After finishing grade 7, Cam dropped out of school and started a small business before getting married in the countryside. To earn money to support her 3 children, she did all kinds of jobs and sold all kinds of goods. Being clever, Cam soon accumulated some money and became famous in the area.

When he had money, Cam did business in many fields and the market was increasingly expanding. To facilitate business, Cam and his wife bought a house at No. 16, Hau Giang Street, Ward 4, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City. Here, she established a real estate company and became the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Although she had a house in Ho Chi Minh City, Cam often traveled everywhere and spent more time at home in Do Luong town.

However, Cam's rapid wealth combined with his shady behavior caught the attention of the police. However, as a businessman, knowledgeable about the law, and having been prosecuted for gambling, Cam was always on high alert and had many sophisticated and cunning tricks.

Major Nguyen Thanh Nam - Captain of the Criminal Police - Economic - Drug - Environment Team of Thanh Chuong District Police said that after a period of verifying and monitoring Cam's movements, the police learned that she was organizing a drug trafficking and illegal transportation ring. Cam sourced the goods from many places and then directly delivered them to customers without going through an intermediary.

To avoid detection by the authorities, Cam chooses a different location each time he delivers to a customer. However, one of the locations Cam prioritizes is the VENUS karaoke bar in block 8, Do Luong town, owned by his daughter.

One special thing that the police discovered was that Cam was a drug addict. Despite her outward appearance as a successful businesswoman, driving a luxury car and dressing stylishly, few people knew that she still had to use "goods" that she bought herself whenever she had a drug attack.

In February 2018, Thanh Chuong District Police established Project 218D, collected documents and used professional measures with the determination to arrest Vo Thi Cam.

After a period of monitoring, combined with information from scouts, on March 13, Thanh Chuong District Police coordinated with Anti-Drug Task Force No. 2 - Vietnam Coast Guard Command, Do Luong District Police and Nghe An Province Road and Railway Traffic Police Department to raid the VENUS karaoke bar.

At karaoke room 303, the authorities caught Cam red-handed in possession of nearly 2 kg of crystal meth. Upon searching the suspect’s home, the authorities seized nearly 100 grams of crystal meth.

According to Colonel Luong The Loc – Chief of Thanh Chuong District Police, the plan to arrest Vo Thi Cam was kept secret until the last minute. Thanks to that, the subject did not have time to dispose of the evidence and had no chance to escape.

At the interrogation room of Thanh Chuong District Police, Cam bowed her head and sincerely confessed her crime. Knowing that she had committed a serious crime and would face severe punishment, she expressed remorse and regret because her husband was currently suffering from severe diabetes and had no one to take care of him.

Many times, Cam wiped away tears and expressed worry that his illegal behavior would affect his children's honor and business.

Also according to the Chief of Thanh Chuong District Police, after completing the initial file, the unit will transfer Vo Thi Cam and documents and evidence to Nghe An Provincial Police to continue investigating according to their authority.
