Children of the lake

(Baonghean) - Ban Ve Hydropower Plant (Tuong Duong) has come into operation. Despite many efforts from the government and the people, the lives of people living in the reservoir are still difficult, especially children.

In Xop Lam residential area, there are dozens of children of school age, but only 3 children go to school (1 in kindergarten, 1 in grade 3 and 1 in grade 5). Since childhood, the children have had to help their families with heavy housework.

Lo Van Phong, one of three children in the village who can go to school, is very studious. Even though he has to go to school by boat from his neighbor, he never misses a day of school.

The children here also drive motorboats on the lake, which is extremely dangerous. Many times, even the parents do not realize that this can endanger the lives of their children, thinking that it is a normal thing here?!
