Special lessons for teachers and F0 students
(Baonghean.vn) - A series of students and teachers in the F0 and F1 categories have affected the organization of teaching and learning in many schools in the province. To adapt, schools have implemented many different forms so as not to interrupt students' learning.
F0, F1 teachers still go to class
This Tuesday, the day afterpupilBack to school, teacher Nguyen Thi Quynh Chi - a teacher at Le Mao Secondary School - Vinh City received the news that she tested positive for Covid-19. This was unexpected because just one day before, before returning to school, she and her colleagues in the whole school had a health check and the results were negative. Along with her, her husband and two children, one 3 years old and one 1 year old, also had similar results.

Up to this point, teacher Quynh Chi still does not know the source of her family's infection, but at the same time, she received information that all her family members were infected.Covid-19making her worried, especially when her children were all young. On the first day she heard the news, she monitored the health of her whole family to see the progression of the disease and symptoms. After examination, her family was also treated at home by medical staff because they had no symptoms or mild symptoms.
At Le Mao Secondary School, teacher Quynh Chi is the team leader. In addition, she teaches 4 Civic Education classes per week for grades 6 and 8. When her family was infected, the school board created conditions for her to stay home to recover, but after stabilizing her mental health and feeling quite secure about her health, she requested to return to class as usual through online teaching.

Sharing about this, teacher Quynh Chi added: At this time, my health is quite good and I only have occasional chills. So I can still do all my professional work at home through online teaching. In fact, this form is not too strange because we have had nearly a semester of online learning. However, the feeling of the teacher teaching online but the students still studying in class is quite different. Fortunately, in the past few days, the students have understood the teacher's situation very well and have cooperated with her very effectively. Even though she is not in class, they are still obedient, quiet and interact with the teacher normally.
After only one week of returning to school, Le Mao Secondary School discovered many F0 and F1 students and the school also has 3 teachers who are quarantined at home because they are infected or have been in contact with infected people.

Although teaching conditions are not favorable, teaching at school has been going on normally in recent days. Accordingly, if any class has F0 students, the school will switch to online teaching. Teachers who cannot come to school will switch to online teaching... via TV screens. Meanwhile, students in other classes will still study normally.
In class 9B, this morning, the students had 4 live lessons with the teacher at school. The remaining lessons were online because the Physics teacher was quarantined at home. Although this new format was quite new, after just a few minutes of getting used to it, the teacher and students interacted normally. Apart from the lecture being shown online, all other activities such as asking questions and students answering questions were not much different from a live lesson.

When the Covid-19 pandemic began, we developed many scenarios and prepared conditions to organize teaching, both in person and online.
Even now, although teachers cannot come to school, the teaching of classes is not disrupted because we still organize teaching through the LMS system. All classrooms have TVs to connect to the Internet and the school has upgraded the wifi coverage to be strong enough to connect to Zoom in all classrooms so students can still easily follow the lectures of the teachers.
No disruption to student learning
The outbreak of the epidemic after Tet has greatly affected the organization of teaching and learning in schools. The number of students with F0 and F1 cases has never increased so rapidly and thousands of students have been unable to go to school due to the high risk of spreading the disease.

This is also a difficulty for schools in organizing teaching and learning. However, with the policy of "wherever the epidemic goes, we will spread it and try not to affect students' learning", schools have been flexible in implementing teaching and learning. AtHuynh Thuc Khang High SchoolAccording to the school's statistics, as of the morning of February 10, the whole school had 33 F0 students. Classes that were found to have F0 after students arrived at school were switched to online learning, while the rest continued to teach in person as usual. In addition, the school checked that 211 F1 students were in close contact and were advised by local authorities to self-isolate at home, and also switched to online learning.

As for teachers, there are currently no F0 cases, but 3 F1 teachers are also arranged to teach online to both prevent the epidemic and carry out the teaching schedule according to the program.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho's Physics class this morning had 11 students absent, including 8 F1 students. The class was much quieter than usual, with many desks missing students. However, the atmosphere in the classroom was still normal.
To ensure the rights and help students keep up with the program progress, Mr. Tho teaches directly in class, and also sets up a camera to record the lecture and livestream for online learners. “The transition from direct to in-person teaching or a combination of both has become familiar to teachers and students. Because during the past 2 school years, we have done it many times and are no longer surprised or encounter too many difficulties. Whether teaching online or in person, students are still guaranteed the core knowledge and skills of the lesson,” said Mr. Tho.

Currently, all students in the school have received 2 doses of vaccine. Based on the reality as well as the direction of the Department of Education and Training, we continue to teach in person and online for F0 and F1 students.
F1 teachers are also encouraged to teach online at home according to the assigned schedule. Therefore, although the school's teaching and classes have changed and adjusted, they are still stable, following the school year plan. Up to this point, the health of more than 250 F0 and F1 students and teachers is stable. The school also predicts that the number of F0 students may increase, especially in the context of the complicated epidemic in Vinh City, with many positive cases appearing in the community. However, the school remains calm, proactively strengthening epidemic prevention work, implementing scenarios and teaching plans. All situations are taken into account with the motto "schools must be safe and students must be safe when going to school". At the same time, propaganda is promoted so that parents can rest assured to send their children to school.
Thai Lao - Hung Nguyen High School is also simultaneously implementing three forms of teaching: students study directly at school, study online with teachers who are in quarantine, teach online for classes with F0 students or teach directly and livestream for students who are in quarantine at home. With this plan, the organization of teaching and learning at schools still takes place normally and adapts promptly to the situation.
Previously, many schools suggested that F0 and F1 students should be concentrated in each school or district to organize separate online classes, but this option is being considered because it will affect each student's individual learning program and is not as effective as other options being implemented.

In the current context, the Department of Education and Training has also directed schools to be flexible in organizing teaching and learning and give top priority to direct teaching. In addition, to reassure students, schools must also pay attention to students who are in quarantine and cannot go to school by assigning online homework and sending online lectures so that they can keep up with the program. These solutions may have to last for the next few weeks as the number of F0 and F1 students and teachers in schools is expected to continue to increase./.
