Ha Thi Hoang Oanh and her dream of becoming a female lawyer.

With her pretty face and charming way of speaking, Ha Thi Hoang Oanh makes a particularly strong impression on those she meets. This lovely girl became the winner of the first prize in Literature in the 2012-2013 National Excellent Student Competition.
Currently, Hoang Oanh is a 12th-grade Literature student at Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School. Born into a family of three siblings in Quan Bau (Vinh City), her father is a disabled veteran (category 4/4), and her mother is a retired military officer with poor health and frequent illnesses, making her family's circumstances quite difficult.
Sharing about her "journey" to this award, Oanh said that for a competition of the magnitude of the national excellent student competition, knowledge is naturally always the top priority. However, Oanh's preparation for these intellectual battles also includes something indispensable: self-confidence. In all subjects, she always tries to find the essence of every problem and understand it deeply. Literature is her favorite subject, so she dedicates more time to it. She values authenticity in emotions and learning through selective research methods, carefully selecting valuable materials. Regarding this year's national excellent student competition in Literature, the social commentary question was: "Every person is born equal; any differences are due to education." Oanh said she found this question very interesting. My essay is divided into three parts: explaining the concept of education and expressing agreement with the above statement; demonstrating, through citing examples of how education creates differences between people, and the path and methods of acquiring education; and refuting the view that sometimes education is not the sole factor creating these differences, but depends on many other factors, and sometimes education itself obscures those differences. With a very logical, complete, and insightful structure, this essay earned me 16.5/20 points.
In the near future, with her outstanding achievements, Ha Thi Hoang Oanh will have many favorable conditions to fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer or a police officer. According to Oanh, these are two professions that are "not simple at all," but they have been her passion and love since childhood.
Cao Ngoc Thai dreams of conquering the pinnacle of Physics.

Born into a farming family in Dien Cat, Dien Chau, Cao Ngoc Thai showed intelligence, quick wit, and meticulousness from a young age. He consistently excelled academically from primary to secondary school, excelling in subjects like Math, English, and Physics at the district level. In 9th grade, Thai won a high prize in the provincial Physics competition, paving the way for him to enroll in Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School. He shared: “My parents are farmers, and our family is struggling financially, so providing for my education in the city wasn't easy. When I applied, my parents only thought of letting me try my luck; even if I passed, they wouldn't let me attend because they were worried about me being too young to live far from home and the cost of tuition…” But for Thai, studying at a specialized school and following in the footsteps of role models like Nguyen Tat Nghia and Huy Hoang was a dream come true. “I really like Physics, and I want to conquer the highest peaks in this subject…”
In the recent national-level physics competition, Thai excelled, overcoming formidable opponents nationwide and winning first prize in Physics despite being only in 11th grade. Driven by his passion, he cultivated a habit of, after finding one solution, always thinking of another, more superior and simpler approach. He never gave up on a difficult problem, always determined to see it through to the end, understanding the root of the issue. With this method and skill, he consistently achieved maximum scores in his exams. “Reaching the second round of the Pacific Rim Physics Olympiad is a dream come true and an honor for me. I will strive to conquer the pinnacle of physics, aiming for studying abroad and my dream of specializing in atomic physics in the future…”, shared the 2013 national-level physics champion.
Two first prizes were awarded in Geography.

Specifically for Geography, this was truly a "golden harvest," the highest results ever. In this year's national excellent student competition, the Geography team had 8 out of 8 students winning awards, including 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Hue, homeroom teacher of class 11C3 and the person directly mentoring the members of the Geography team, happily shared: “Geography has never been a strong subject for our school, and we’ve never won first prize. To achieve the results we have today, besides imparting knowledge to the students, it’s crucial to ignite their passion for the subject. Especially for 11th-grade students, when participating in the exam, they lack both foundational and in-depth knowledge, while Geography requires a high level of synthesis, thus demanding meticulous and dedicated effort from the mentoring teachers. In addition to studying together with the team members, the two 11th-grade students received extra tutoring to build a solid foundation of knowledge.”
Two first prizes were awarded to Hoang Thi Trang and Nguyen Le Ha (students of class 11C3, Phan Boi Chau High School). This "pair" studies in the same class, shares a love for geography, and has excellent academic results with "equal" scores, averaging 9.0 points; their overall geography score is 9.3 points. The results they achieved are truly "miraculous".
