'Spoilers' at the inter-Korean summit
The Inter-Korean Summit was meticulously scripted, but there were still hilarious incidents by paparazzi that left many people speechless, such as... Tu Hai.
An... awkward situation when photographers keep rushing into the frame of... other people |
The April 27 summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae In was broadcast live around the world. Many beautiful moments of the two leaders were captured by the international press.
However, there are also many "mad" moments when photographers try to choose a good angle but accidentally get caught in the frame of the main camera filming live.
These "photobombers" sometimes even obscure the two main characters. A "photobomber" is a person who accidentally (or intentionally) enters another person's frame and disrupts the composition or content of the photo, sometimes attracting more attention than the main characters.
In a post about the above situations, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) asked: "Are these paparazzi at the inter-Korean summit the world's most famous 'photo-spoofers'?"
The cited video shows Mr. Kim and Mr. Moon sitting and chatting on a blue wooden bridge, the camera is focused on the two main characters from afar when suddenly a photojournalist runs up.
This guy stood in the middle of the frame and blocked the two leaders of South Korea and North Korea. Notably, this photographer has a whole "head" that, when viewed from behind, looks exactly like Kim Jong Un's "head".
The main cameraman had to remind the photographer to "startle" that he was "bombing" and move to the side. However, when the camera adjusted to focus on the two leaders, another "bomber" came in, blocking Kim Jong Un's face.
In another "half-laughing, half-crying" situation, a female photojournalist even stood on a chair and let her butt fall into the center of the main camera.
There is also footage on the wooden bridge showing Kim Jong Un saying something to the photographers. It is unclear whether he is telling them to leave, but they can be seen leaving shortly afterwards.
However, one reporter stubbornly stayed, despite being advised to leave by his colleagues. SCMP commented: "Even Kim Jong Un cannot make them leave."
They are truly the world's most famous "photobombers" as the SCMP newspaper mentioned, because they dare to "photobomb" at such a large-scale event!
