Folk songs depict the innovation and rise of Nghe An homeland

| On the evening of July 30, the Provincial Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe performed an art performance program to serve political events and ethnic minorities in mountainous districts and participated in the 2020 National Music and Dance Festival. Attending the program were Mr. Ho Mau Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee - Director of the Department of Culture & Sports. |

| This year’s program focuses on Vi, Giam and folk songs from the western mountainous region of Nghe An. The program is divided into 3 parts with content depicting the innovation and rise of Nghe An. |

| Part 1 is titled: Green in the Vi and Giam region, which is a collection of songs developed from the Vi and Giam melodies, inspired by the Lam River with its love for couples and the beauty of the homeland river. |

| Part 2 is titled: The colors of the flowers of the mountains, which are songs and dances developed from the Co xia and tutu le le melodies of the Mong ethnic group; folk songs in the housewarming and fire-making customs of the Kh'mu people; the village festival, rice pounding and furrow carving customs of the Thai people, and the thunder celebration customs of the O Du people. The songs in this part mainly describe the beauty of village culture of the ethnic minorities in the western mountainous areas of Nghe An. |

| In the second part, many excellent performances were carefully invested in to convey the characteristics and spirit of the people in the western mountainous region of Nghe An. In the photo: the performance "Seeds" expressed many ideas about the growth and development of the people, the performance received applause from the audience. |

| Part 3 is titled: New Day Aspirations, which are songs written on new music with the theme of praising the homeland and country that is changing every day. |

| Commenting on the performance program, Mr. Ho Mau Thanh affirmed that this year's program was carefully invested in both content and form with high artistic quality. The program brought youthful energy, new style with elaborate training of the troupe's singing, dancing and music cast. However, the performances need to be more sophisticated; more investment to have the performances participating in the festival to win high prizes. |
