In 2020, trade union activities in general and women's activities in particular took place in a special condition: It was a year with many important events in the country and in the province, but the two major holidays for women took place during the peak month of the Covid-19 pandemic and the tragic floods in the Central provinces. Overcoming difficulties and making efforts to promote their role, the women's movementEmployeesand the activities of Nghe An women's union achieved remarkable results.
At the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor, the role of women's work is affirmed in propagating the policies of the Party, the trade union, the State's laws, mobilizing female cadres, civil servants, and workers to participate in social activities and general emulation movements launched by the trade union. Typical examples are the "National Action Month on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence", "Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence"; the movement "Good at State Work - Good at Housework"... In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, propaganda activities were effectively deployed via Facebook and Zalo.

In particular, on the occasion of October 20, 2020, coinciding with the peak flood days in the Central region, women's activities in the province have turned into meaningful volunteer activities. Most of the Trade Unions and female employees have organized material and labor contributions for the Central region's compatriots through specific activities such as: Donating money, goods, organizing the cooking of banh chung, cooking rice, making dried food to promptly support people in flood-hit areas in the province and neighboring provinces... "In those days, almost all of the women's recreational activities became fundraising campaigns. In many units,female union member"I always give my gifts to support the people. This is really meaningful and makes me emotional," Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi recalled.

In addition to meaningful fundraising activities, many other activities have also been implemented: Golden Bell Contest to learn about female labor policies and population policies (Dien Chau district); Clean agricultural products market (Thai Hoa town); Women's volleyball tournament (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development); Communication of female labor policies (Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Tuong Duong districts); Club activities in the religious areas (Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town)...
Among the typical activities of the Women's Union, it is impossible not to mention the programs that have created great resonance such as: Coordinating with the Department of Population - Family Planning in directing trade unions at all levels to implement the model "Providing reproductive health care services and contraceptives for workers in industrial parks and enterprises employing a large number of female workers in Nghe An province"; directing the implementation of the model "Your Health" at 26/28 units, providing health check-ups, consultations, and free medicine distribution to over 11,000 employees; inspecting and supervising the implementation of laws and policies on gender equality and for the advancement of women; advising the Management Board of the Fund for Poor Female Workers...
The role of women's work is also demonstrated in participating in building and monitoring the implementation of laws and policies for female employees to protect the legitimate rights and interests of female employees and organize emulation movements and cadre work among female employees.

Building on the achievements in 2020, the women's activities of Nghe An Trade Union in 2021 promise to have more profound and practical marks.

Inpropaganda work, The Women's Union will promote the dissemination and propaganda to employees of the Party's policies and the State's laws on marriage, family, gender equality, prevention of domestic violence, violence against women and children, focusing on the 2019 Labor Code and Decree No. 145/2020/ND-CP dated December 14, 2020 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Labor Code on working conditions and labor relations (especially Section 2 on ensuring gender equality and specific regulations for female workers); Decree No. 105/2020/ND-CP dated September 8, 2020 of the Government on regulations on policies for developing preschool education. The Union will also continue to coordinate inspection and supervision focusing on the implementation of regimes and policies that directly affect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of female workers; Salary, bonus, benefits, periodic health check-ups, obstetrics and gynecology check-ups, maternity leave, childcare...
In order to support the role of female workers in the family, the committee will accompany and mobilize businesses and units to help and partially support the cost of sending children to nurseries and kindergartens for workers with children of childcare and kindergarten age, while promoting the implementation of the breastfeeding program, promoting the model of "Breastfeeding Room" at the workplace, and encouraging the organization of the model of "Summer Camp for children of workers". Currently, the grassroots trade unions have been and are starting to survey and develop programs to soon implement these contents.

In addition, promote social activities, care for and provide practical support to female employees and their children who are in difficult circumstances or have serious illnesses; Continue to innovate and be creative in implementing emulation movements among female employees, focusing on emulation movements"Good at public affairs, good at home affairs"associated with the movement "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families"...
“In order for the women's work to be more and more effective, women's cadres need to constantly improve their professional skills during their work, always develop work programs and plans, and assign specific responsibilities. The selection of activities must come from the needs of female workers but must be suitable for reality and achieve the set goals and requirements. In addition, the mass women's committee also needs close direction from the Trade Union Executive Committee at the same level, solutions to mobilize resources, and support from the government, professionals and mass organizations in caring for female workers.”
Currently, Nghe An Trade Union has 29 direct grassroots trade unions (including 21 district, city and town Labor Federations; 8 industry trade unions), 2,926 grassroots trade unions (of which the non-state sector has 518 units with more than 54,429 union members), of which 2,411 mass women's labor committees (NCQC) have been established (the administrative and career grassroots trade union block has 2,118 NCQC boards, the state-owned enterprise grassroots trade union block has 25, the non-state enterprise grassroots trade union block has 268).
