Kalanchoe pinata (Lam.) Pers., also known as the burn plant, belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is known by many other names such as evergreen plant, life-sustaining plant, root-growing plant, burn medicine plant, etc.

The Kalanchoe plant is a wild plant, but it is also widely cultivated by people for both ornamental and medicinal purposes.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the burn plant (Kalanchoe pinnata) has a mild, slightly sour taste, a cooling nature, and is non-toxic. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, blood-activating, pain-relieving, anti-swelling, and detoxifying effects.

Besides its characteristic use in treating burns, as its name suggests, the burn plant is also used to treat kidney stones, gout, high blood pressure, ulcers, various skin diseases, reduce fever, relieve headaches, chest pain, reduce coughs, relieve pain, and regulate menstruation...

In some regions, people use young burnet leaves to cook soup and as a poultice for wounds, boils, and red, swollen eyes.

Because its leaves contain many antibacterial compounds, the burn plant is also used for various internal and external infections such as intestinal diseases, enteritis, hemorrhoids, and stomach ulcers.

According to herbalist Ngo Viet Tai, head of the Chua Boc Traditional Medicine Cooperative in Hanoi, the burn plant (Kalanchoe pinnata) has notable uses in treating burns, hemorrhoids, sinusitis, and is extremely effective in relieving hangovers.
