Parking on rough terrain, with sharp objects

Parking on uneven terrain, gravel, or areas with sharp rocks or debris can cause damage to tires such as scratches, abrasions, or punctures when sharp objects are pushed into them.

Or parking in an area with potholes will cause the car to lose balance, causing some wheels to bear more pressure than usual. In the long run, it will deform and reduce the elasticity of the tire.

Park with the wheels on a hard surface, or one side high and one side low.

When stopping the vehicle on the side of the road, the driver must be careful not to let the tires scrape against the sidewalk, or stop when there are hard objects stuck under the wheels. This will affect the quality of the tires.

At the same time, you should not park your car half on the sidewalk and half on the road. This is a violation and will result in administrative penalties. Parking like this will put more pressure on the two wheels below the road surface. Over time, this will cause the tires to become warped, the rubber to become brittle, and can even cause cracks if the tires are old. It is also possible that it will affect the steering system.

How to park properly?

According to regulations, drivers must stop and park their vehicles close to the curb or sidewalk on the right side of the road in the direction of travel, the nearest wheel must not be more than 0.25m from the curb or sidewalk and must not obstruct traffic. In case of narrow streets, the vehicle must be stopped and parked at least 20m away from the car parked on the other side of the road.

Do not stop or park on tram tracks, on drainage manholes, telephone or high voltage lines, or in areas reserved for fire trucks to get water. Do not leave vehicles on the roadway or sidewalk in violation of regulations.

At the same time, it is necessary to comply with the regulations on stopping and parking according to Clause 3, Article 18; or not to stop and park at the locations prescribed in Clause 4, Article 18 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law.

In addition, drivers should also regularly check tire pressure when parking. When the weather is hot, tire pressure should be kept a little lower than ideal, and tires should not be over-inflated, and the car should not be parked in the hot sun for too long...
