At least 90% of us practice brushing our teeth in the morning, because it is a very necessary and healthy habit.

Since childhood, we are advised to brush our teeth at least twice a day, once in the morning and once right before going to bed.

If you do not brush your teeth regularly, that is, at least once a day, you run the risk of developing plaque due to the accumulation of food debris between your teeth.

When your teeth are not kept clean, you can get cavities, gum infections, tooth loss, and bad breath. Additionally, unclean teeth have been linked to heart disease in many people, as bacteria in the mouth can travel to the heart through the bloodstream.

Using your toothbrush properly will help you avoid these risks. Here are some things to keep in mind when using your toothbrush:

1. Even if it's just once, you should never share your toothbrush with someone else because bacteria can spread quickly from person to person when sharing a toothbrush.

2. Do not cover the toothbrush head with a plastic or soft paper cover as this can create moisture in the bristles and become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria.

3. Avoid placing your toothbrush horizontally on a surface as this will keep it moist for longer and create conditions for bacteria to grow. Therefore, keep your toothbrush upright after use.

4. Replace your toothbrush every 3 months. Old toothbrushes can contain many disease-causing bacteria that cannot be cleaned.
