Vietnamese beauties pursuing journalism

MC Thu Ha of the 7pm news or Tu Anh of Consumer News on VTV both participated in the Miss Vietnam contest.

Nguyen Thu Thuy

After being crowned Miss Vietnam 1994, Nguyen Thu Thuy tried her hand at being an MC many times in programs of Hanoi Television and Vietnam Television. But it was not until 2015 that she really made an impression when she took on the role of MC for the Good Evening program on VTC14 channel. After nearly 2 years of working with Good Evening and some important programs of VTC, in early 2017, Thu Thuy switched to being the MC of ANTV's Security Panorama news.

A lovely face, attractive fashion sense, extensive knowledge and fluent speaking ability help the beauty easily impress the audience. Sharing the reason for switching to the television field after many years of limited appearances in showbiz, Nguyen Thu Thuy said that she once intended to pursue this job but had to give up because she could not arrange it. During her quiet time, she studied with a pronunciation expert to practice her expressive voice, breathing and keeping the correct rhythm. Thanks to that preparation, she easily adapted when being the host of live broadcast programs.

Besides being an MC, Nguyen Thu Thuy also took on the role of producer for a documentary series about famous overseas Vietnamese around the world.

Thuy Van

Before joining Miss Vietnam 2008, Thuy Van was a TV MC known to many viewers through the show Weekend Choice. After winning the runner-up position in this contest, Thuy Van continued to pursue a journalism career at Vietnam Television. The runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2008 made her mark with a series of programs such as Key to Success, Financial News... Currently, she is an editor at VTV24 News Center.

Besides her work as an editor for VTV24 News Center, Thuy Van also takes on the role of a major program host for Vietnam Television. In addition, the 2008 Miss Vietnam runner-up also actively appears as an MC for events.

Duong Tu Anh

After graduating from the Academy of Journalism and Communication, the 2012 Miss Vietnam runner-up worked at the VTV24 News Center of Vietnam Television. On August 19, the beauty officially appeared on air as the MC of the Consumer Finance news bulletin.

Pursuing a career in television has been Duong Tu Anh's dream since she was in school. The beauty shared that she took the entrance exam to VTV24 News Center but failed. After that, the beauty had to spend nearly 2 years studying, practicing and going through many challenges before being able to appear on air.

Editor Ngoc Trinh once shared that before choosing a host for Consumer News, she had invited many famous beauties but only Tu Anh survived. Ngoc Trinh highly appreciated the perseverance of Miss Vietnam 2012's runner-up in learning. Along with Thuy Van, Ngoc Trinh was also the one who directly guided Tu Anh during her internship.

Thu Ha

Thu Ha was born in 1988, and was known to many audiences when she participated in the TV series Vang Anh's Diary part 2, Autumn is not lonely, Old house... In addition, while studying, she also worked as an MC for some VTC programs such as: Chat with 8X, Pocket address... In 2006, Thu Ha participated in Miss Vietnam and reached the final round of the contest.

After graduating from Hanoi Foreign Trade University, Thu Ha joined Vietnam Television. In March 2011, she was appointed as the MC of the 7pm news - VTV's most important news program and became the youngest MC in the history of this program. After 1 year, Thu Ha left this position and returned to VTV News' news programs such as Good Morning, Real Estate News, etc.

In early January 2017, Thu Ha returned to the 7pm news after 6 years of absence. Sharing about her work, Thu Ha said: "People often see me on TV with my hair and clothes sparkling, but my life as a journalist has had difficult days with sleepless nights at the office to finish work. There were days when I had to sleep at the office with disheveled hair, otherwise the audience would not recognize me. In general, if you decide to enter the journalism profession, you must have determination and a burning passion."
