People who silently and firmly entered the epidemic area
(Baonghean.vn) - Clearly identifying their position on the front line of the epidemic, the staff of the Provincial Center for Disease Control accept the sacrifices to protect people's health. They are still happy because of the silent "prevention is better than cure"; happy with the heart for the profession, because they have brought economic, social and peace benefits to the people... and then confidently step into the epidemic area.
PRESSURE, HARD WORK
In the early days of fighting the epidemicCovid-19, to meet the doctors and nurses of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, Center for Disease Control (CDC) of the province is very difficult. Because they are always in a state of "on every kilometer". The doctors and nurses were just in this district investigating and monitoring cases returning from epidemic areas, a few hours later they were present at the quarantine area taking samples for testing, and at the end of the day they were in another district searching for F1 and F2.

The risk of an epidemic invading is high. Work follows work, day after day. Doctor Nguyen Trong Di - Deputy Head of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control is always in a state of "disheveled hair", tired from constantly investigating, monitoring, and tracing cases.
Doctor Di shared: “A working day starts at 6am and usually ends at 2-3am the next day. Lunch is served at 3-4pm, and dinner is served at 9-10pm. We work hard to find people related to F1, F2, F3 and bring them in for quarantine and testing. When we are too tired, we sleep wherever we can, and when we recover, we get up to continue working.”

Doctor Bui Thu Thuy - Head of the Testing Department said: “In the past and now, the staff and technicians of the room work hard day and night to keep up. Eating at the department, resting at the department, everyone tries their best. Anti-epidemic clothing, gloves and masks are indispensable. Each time we take samples and test, it takes 8-9 hours, when we take off our clothes, we are drenched in sweat. After more than 1 year of fighting the epidemic, Nghe An province has tested nearly 36,000 samples, being one of the localities with the most tests in the country. That is a very proud result, but very few people can know the hardship and pressure of the job."

“There has never been a day when the director or deputy director receives less than 100 phone calls. There are times when we have to stand up 7-8 times to answer the phone, and by the time we come back, the food is already cold...”

The medical staff at CDC Nghe An still silently carry out their disease control tasks day and night without thinking about the success or honor that will follow. If a doctor or nurse works at a treatment facility, the results of their work are often shown immediately after that, such as patients recovering quickly and surgeries being successful; while the results of those working in disease prevention can only be counted after about 1-2 years, or even 10-15 years. They are still happy because of the silent "prevention is better than cure"; happy with the heart for the profession, because they have brought economic, social and peace benefits to the people... and then confidently step into the epidemic area.
