Many tourists still lack environmental awareness when coming to sunflower fields.

Every day, hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world visit the 80-hectare sunflower field, which is considered the largest field in Vietnam. Especially on weekends and holidays, this number reaches tens of thousands of people, causing the road leading to the sunflower field to be crowded with people. Many traffic jams lasting for kilometers have occurred. Outside the road leading to the flower field, in the field, tens of thousands of tourists come to enjoy the flowers, many of them bring food and drinks and carelessly litter, not to mention the cases of destroying flowers and breaking branches.

A sunflower field keeper took the opportunity to have a late lunch.

Mr. Truong Van Binh, a TH security guard working at the sunflower field, said that during this year's flower season, there are 8 security guards patrolling the field every day. Each person's task is to remind visitors not to litter or destroy the flowers.

However, despite the warnings, there are still many cases of destroying flowers and posting videos on social media. There have been cases where security guards have taken some young people who lacked awareness of destroying flowers to the commune committee to make a report, but this situation still occurs.

To ensure the hygiene of the sunflower field, many trash cans have been placed on both sides of the main road. However, on the side paths leading to the flower field, it is not difficult to see food and drinks that many tourists carelessly leave behind. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, a cleaner in the field, said that on normal days the amount of trash is small, but on holidays she and her colleagues cannot clean up all of it. Sometimes, after finishing cleaning, they come back to see another pile of trash.

Along with TH guards, starting from 7am, the district and commune police forces were mobilized to regulate traffic passing through the sunflower hill as well as the field area. One of them was to remind many tourists who came to visit the field by car to stop their cars from parking illegally, resolve vehicle collisions, and maintain security and order in the flower field...

Nghia Dan district police force regulates traffic through sunflower field.

Mr. Tran Khanh Hoang, from the security team of Nghia Dan district, said that because the trail is small, only enough for 2 lanes, on a normal day, just one car stopping is enough to cause a traffic jam. On weekends, the pressure on the security forces to regulate traffic increases even more when the number of cars suddenly increases and there are many people who intentionally go in the wrong lane, encroaching on the road to quickly enter the flower field. That is not to mention the times when the security forces and guards also take on the duties of looking after lost children, notifying visitors to find things when they come to visit...

Facing the attraction of the sunflower field, those who are quietly working to ensure security and environmental sanitation in Nghia Dan feel happy but also hope that tourists when visiting will be more aware of protecting and preserving the landscape. So that the sunflower field can truly become a beautiful destination of Nghe An./.
