These simple reasons make car gearboxes 'die' quickly

The car's gearbox is a part that rarely breaks down, however some reasons from the driver's usage habits cause this part to break down faster.

The gearbox is an extremely important part of the car, if there is damage in this part, repairing the gearbox is extremely expensive. Therefore, during use, the driver needs to pay attention, maintain and repair promptly when there are any signs.

If the car gearbox breaks down, the repair cost is very expensive.

According to technician Pham Quoc Hao (Quoc Binh auto garage, Nam Dinh), one of the reasons why car gearboxes fail quickly is due to lubricating oil. In case of lack of oil, the oil pressure to lubricate the moving parts in the gearbox will be reduced, and the oil valves will not operate properly.

When the gearbox works, metal shavings are generated. If the oil is not changed periodically, these metal shavings will clog the solenoid valves and the oil lines supplying the friction discs. Each car manufacturer and each model equipped with an automatic transmission requires different standards for lubricating oil for the gearbox, and usually the newer the model, the higher the standard. When using substandard oil, the parts will quickly wear out and be destroyed.

Signs to recognize a damaged car gearbox, first the "Check Engine" light on the dashboard lights up to warn of engine-related damage, in some cases due to vibration of the gearbox or the ECU predicts damage to the gearbox that the driver has not felt or seen.

When shifting gears, you may hear some noise. In this case, in addition to changing the oil, the car may need to change some mechanical parts or the intermediate gear or maybe the bearings are worn.

When operating, if the vehicle vibrates or the gearbox makes noise, it is likely due to the planetary gears, belt (in CVT gearbox), differential (anti-slip differential with pitted shaft ends), or worn friction discs causing mechanical impact and slippage.

In addition, when driving, the driver needs to pay attention if the car speed does not correspond to the engine speed, when the driver accelerates but the car still moves very slowly, the cause may be due to worn or burned friction discs, or damaged solenoid valves in one or more gears.
