Key tasks on ethnic work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels

In Nghe An, in addition to the bridge point at the headquarters of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee chaired by Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, online connection was made to 12 bridge points in districts with ethnic minorities.

At the beginning of the training conference, delegates at the connecting points heard comrade Truong Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of the Central CommitteeVietnam Fatherland FrontVietnam directly disseminates the topic "New points in the documents of the 13th National Party Congress on ethnic work".

Accordingly, delegates are systematically provided with the consistent viewpoints and ideology of our Party that always determineethnic workand solidarity among ethnic groups is an important strategy in the Vietnamese revolution and through the Party's congresses, from the 6th to the 13th Congress, our Party continued to develop and supplement a number of viewpoints and ideas on ethnic minorities and great solidarity among ethnic groups in line with the practical situation.

Documents of the 13th CongressThe Party continues to affirm its consistent viewpoints and thoughts on ethnic work. Documentsclearly stated: “Ensure equality, respect, and mutual assistance among ethnic groups to develop together. Mobilize, allocate, use, and effectively manage resources for development investment, creating fundamental changes in the economy, culture, and society in areas with large ethnic minorities. Pay attention to the specific characteristics of each ethnic minority region in planning and organizing the implementation of ethnic policies. Have a mechanism to promote the positivity, self-reliance, and self-reliance of ethnic minorities in socio-economic development, and implement sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction. Take care to build a team of cadres and prestigious people in ethnic minority areas. Strictly punish all plots and actions to divide and sabotage the great national unity bloc”.

The document also clearly states: “Building special mechanisms and policies to care for education, training, health care, improving the quality of human resources; creating livelihoods, jobs, stable settlement for ethnic minorities, especially in remote and border areas. Implementing economic and social development programs and projects for ethnic minorities, mountainous areas, and areas with especially difficult conditions”.

Institutionalizing the Party's viewpoints and thoughts on ethnic affairs and ethnic minority areas, since the implementation of the country's renovation process, the National Assembly and the Government have always paid attention to and devoted many priority policies and strategies, investing in comprehensive socio-economic development, national defense and security for ethnic and mountainous areas on the basis of promoting the advantages of each region.

In particular, at the 8th session, the 14th National Assembly passed Resolution No. 88/2019/QH14 dated November 18, 2019 approving the Master Plan for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period. On October 14, 2021, the Government issued Decision No. 1719 approving the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period, including 10 component projects and integrating 118 policies on ethnic minorities and ethnic affairs up to now.

The conference also heard comrade Truong Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasize 5 key groups of tasks of the Fatherland Front at all levels to implement the Party and State's viewpoints and policies on ethnic work.

Specifically, the Fatherland Front at all levels continues to implement the resolutions of the Party at all levels on ethnic work in the new situation; well perform the responsibility of supervising the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2030 according to Decision No. 1719/QD-TTg along with the National Target Program on sustainable poverty reduction; National Target Program on new rural construction; Supervise the implementation of effective policies in ethnic minority areas.

The Fatherland Front at all levels continues to promote propaganda work to preserve and promote cultural values ​​and customs of ethnic groups; resolutely eliminate backward customs. Combined with strengthening the building of a strong grassroots political system, especially in key areas, border areas, and areas of special difficulty.

The Fatherland Front at all levels is concerned with promoting coordination in building a solid national defense posture and people's security posture in ethnic and mountainous areas. Resolutely defeating all sabotage plots of hostile forces that aim to divide the great unity of all ethnic groups.
