Which countries own the 'king cobra' Su-30MK2?

(Baonghean.vn) - Up to now, Su-30MK2, nicknamed 'king cobra', is still considered the most successful export product in the Su-30 aircraft family.

Algeria has ordered 28 Su-30MK2s, delivered in 2008-2009.

The Indonesian government ordered three Su-30MK2 fighters in July 2007 for use by the Indonesian Air Force. The shipment was delivered in January 2009. Subsequently, the Russian state-owned arms exporter Rosoboronexport signed a $470 million contract with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the supply of six Su-30MK2s in December 2011. The first two were delivered in February 2013, followed by the third and fourth in May 2013. The Indonesian Air Force received the remaining aircraft in September 2013.

In January 2009, Rosoboronexport signed a contract worth about $500 million with Vietnam to supply eight Su-30MK2s to the Vietnamese Air Force. Vietnam also ordered 12 more fighters in 2010. The first batch of four aircraft was delivered in June 2011. A contract for another 12 aircraft was signed in 2013. The two most recent were delivered in early 2016.

Uganda placed an order with Rosoboronexport for six Su-30MK2 fighters for use in the Uganda National Defence Forces (UPDF) in April 2010. The first two were delivered in July 2011. The third and fourth were delivered in November 2011, followed by the final two in May 2012.

In July 2006, Russia signed a $1 billion contract with Venezuela to supply 24 Su-30MK2 aircraft to the Venezuelan Air Force. The first two of these were delivered in November 2006.

China received 24 Su-30MK2s with maritime strike capability in August 2004. These aircraft are currently operated by the People's Liberation Army Navy Air Force.
