(Baonghean.vn) -In order to preserve the national musical identity, students of the Thai ethnic musical instrument training class in Con Cuong demonstrated their talent, passion and dexterity.
The training program focuses on instructing the making and use of some Thai ethnic musical instruments such as flutes, flutes, pi khui and xi xa lo, which are considered the sounds of the mountains and forests.

Among the musical instruments trained this time, the xi xa lo is the most difficult to make, requiring the craftsman's meticulousness and ability to appreciate the sound. The main materials to make the xi xa lo are bamboo trunks to make the resonance box, and small steel wires (formerly made of horsetail hair) to create sound. To make the xi xa lo, it requires skillful hands, and the tools must be sharpened to thinly shave the bamboo trunk. Photo: Cong Kien
Compared to xi xa lo, making flutes, flutes and pipes is simpler but also requires perseverance and skill. More than 50% of the training class is women, and the women always show passion and enthusiasm in making instruments.
