Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, there are special "ambassadors" who possess a deep love for their national culture. They are the reporters and propagandists who inspire young people, contributing to preserving and spreading love for their homeland and country in the present era.

The efforts of the winning presenter to preserve Thai culture.

If you followed the 2024 Nghe An Provincial Excellent Presenter and Propagandist Competition, you'll surely remember Lu Thanh Duc - Secretary of the Youth Union of Chau Phong commune, Quy Chau district, a young Thai man confidently presenting on the role of youth in preserving and promoting national cultural values in the digital age.

For him, the love for national culture and the concern of how to rekindle it in the hearts of young people has always been a deep-seated passion. From this concern, Lu Thanh Duc has found many solutions to implement in practice. These valuable experiences were an important foundation that contributed to him winning first prize in the competition.

It must be emphasized that one of the essential qualities of a good speaker or communicator is the ability to empathize with real-world situations in order to effectively convey messages to people. Back home, thanks to this talent, Duc has encouraged people to enthusiastically participate in the Thai Culture Preservation Club, which he heads.

The club was proposed by him, and he advised the Party Committee and the local government to establish it in early 2023. Although it has only been in operation for a little over a year, it has created a strong and widespread movement among young people in Chau Phong commune.

The Thai Culture Preservation Club in Chau Phong commune has 35 members. Among these members, many are already proficient in the cultural and artistic forms of the Thai people, but there are also many young members who come here to learn and practice these forms. Lu Thanh Duc directly teaches the ancient Thai script to the members. Through Duc's connections, three artisans in the commune have joined in teaching the members many important skills, including Thai folk songs, how to play musical instruments, organizing folk games such as throwing the ball, playing tò mạc lẹ (a traditional game), and even weaving and embroidery.

The youngest member of the Club is 14-year-old Luong Anh Dao (Ban village, Chau Phong commune). Anh Dao shared that she has a great passion for Thai folk songs. Every time she listens to the songs of the artisans, she finds joy in the simple melodies of the lyrics. She really enjoys learning about the weaving, embroidery, and basketry techniques of the people in her village. These passions motivate Dao to seek out older people in her village to learn from.

Then, an opportunity opened up for Luong Anh Dao when she joined the Thai Culture Preservation Club established by the Chau Phong Commune Youth Union. The club's leader, Lu Thanh Duc, enthusiastically taught her much important knowledge about the ancient Thai script, customs, and traditions... gradually instilling in her and other young members a sense of pride in the cultural heritage of the Thai people through other meaningful subjects.

During the three summer months each year, Lu Thanh Duc, in his capacity as Secretary of the Youth Union of the commune, also organizes classes on Thai culture. In these classes, Duc and other artisans teach the children the unique folk songs and dances of the Thai ethnic group; various musical performances including gongs, drums, flutes, and reed pipes... Especially with his talent for playing the flute, singing luon songs, and lullabies, Lu Thanh Duc is present at the classes almost every day of the week, patiently and devotedly teaching the children.

In 2023 alone, Lu Thanh Duc, together with the Youth Union of the commune, organized 10 life skills education classes for primary and secondary school students in the area. During these classes, Lu Thanh Duc skillfully combined traditional education with life skills, helping the students gain a deeper understanding of the cultural beauty of their homeland.

Spreading patriotism on the internet.

As an active member of the Provincial Youth Union's Young Theorists Club, Ho Ba Tri (born in 1992) - Secretary of the Internal Political Security Department's Youth Committee of the Provincial Police - has long been known as an outstanding writer among the youth of Nghe An.

Ho Ba Tri has written numerous articles refuting the distorted narratives and misinformation spread by hostile forces on the internet. For example, recently in the field of culture, he has proactively monitored, detected, and verified cases of false information being posted online concerning support for people affected by natural disasters, the state of "democracy and human rights," or the trend of blindly following online idols (social media celebrities) in a distorted and biased way.

The tactic of these malicious individuals is to exploit cyberspace to implement a "peaceful evolution" strategy, plotting to promote color revolutions among teenagers and students. When Tri's articles spread, they partly exposed the misinformation, helping young people understand the true nature of the issue.

With each article, Ho Ba Tri not only provides accurate information but also inspires readers, especially young people, with love for their homeland and country. These articles have been widely shared on the Youth Union's social media pages, contributing to raising awareness about preserving national identity and the responsibility to protect the country against evil schemes.

After nearly 10 years dedicated to his work, Ho Ba Tri has produced dozens of high-quality articles requiring significant investment. His efforts have made a significant contribution to building a healthy and positive online environment, where young people not only access accurate information but also cultivate patriotism and a sense of responsibility towards the community and society.

Recently, Ho Ba Tri also excellently won second prize in the 2024 Provincial Excellent Presenter and Propagandist Competition. His presentation and debate topic, related to promoting the role of youth union members in combating fake news and misinformation on the internet, provided many insightful perspectives and contributed to raising awareness among young people in the digital age.

"

Nghe An currently has over 460 speakers and propagandists at the district and commune levels, and more than 50 speakers and propagandists at the provincial level.

Ho Ba Tri and Lu Thanh Duc are two speakers representing many speakers who are striving to make a significant impact in two areas: preserving and promoting traditional cultural values in local practice and raising awareness about cultural protection in cyberspace.

This is an important foundation that helps young people not only understand and appreciate traditional cultural values, but also equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills to enter the digital age.
