Some leading gut health experts have shared the types of foods they always try to eliminate, such as protein bars and steak.
We are often advised to avoid processed foods and sweets. However, some foods that appear in many diets can cause unpleasant side effects such as bloating and gas.

Gastroenterologist Harmony Allison, who works at Tufts Medical Center (USA), usually stays away from this.protein barIt is often used daily by people who enjoy exercising and regularly go to the gym. Dr. Allison toldHuffington Post"I never eat protein bars. They're often heavily processed and contain lots of additives with unknown purposes."
Instead, Dr. Allison often chooses natural protein sources like nuts as a substitute.
The second expert, Dr. Reezwana Chowdhury, always avoidssteakA gastroenterologist at Johns Hopkins University (USA) explained: "Red meat and processed meat increase the risk of colorectal cancer and polyps."
Although red meat is an important source of essential vitamins and amino acids, Dr. Chowdury says that you shouldn't eat more than 100g per day and ideally no more than once a week.
Dr. Simon Matthews, who works at Johns Hopkins and is a member of the advisory board of Vivante Health, steered clear.carbonated drinksat all costs. "This type of water is easy to drink but is linked to chronic problems, such as diabetes and heart disease," Dr. Matthews noted.
