According to regulations, universities will only be allowed to announce their benchmark scores after August 8. However, up to this point, many top universities have announced their expected benchmark scores to increase compared to last year and could be up to 28 points.

According to university forecasts, many hot majors such as Engineering, Economics, Medicine, etc. all tend to increase their admission scores by 1 to 3 points compared to last year.

Experts and leaders of many universities believe that the benchmark scores for majors in 2019 will increase because the average scores of some subjects are higher than last year.

This year, the expected benchmark scores are that some majors will increase, some will not increase but may decrease. In some newly opened majors, the score may be =< 20.5, which is the lowest score of last year. The reason, according to Mr. Trieu, is that candidates are mainly focusing on hot majors.

Mr. Trieu said that some majors that may increase their scores compared to 2018 are: International Economics, International Business, Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance - Banking, E-commerce, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Public Relations...

Meanwhile, in 2018, the major with the highest benchmark score was International Economics with 24.35 points. International Business had the second highest benchmark score with 24.25.

The leaders of Foreign Trade University also said that the expected admission score to the school this year may be slightly higher than in 2018.

According to information from the Academy of Finance, this year, the number of candidates with total scores ranging from 18 to 23 is quite high. The number of candidates with total scores from 24 points or higher is less.

“Schools with admission scores from 18 to 23 last year will definitely increase this year compared to 2018. As for the remaining majors and schools with admission scores from 24 and above last year, admission scores may increase this year, but will not increase too much compared to last year.

For schools whose benchmark scores were below 18 last year, this year's benchmark scores may fluctuate, ranging from 3 points," said the head of the training department.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Science expects the benchmark score for each major to increase by at least 1 point, and the highest score to increase by 3.5 - 4 points compared to last year.

Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry: The highest is 27 points?

According to Mr. Tu, with the 2019 National High School exam scores and score distribution, the admission scores to Hanoi Medical University may be higher than in 2018.

In 2018, the benchmark score for General Medicine at Hanoi Medical University was 24.75 points. If the Vice Principal predicts that the benchmark scores for each major may increase by 1 to 3 points, the school's highest benchmark score could be 26-27 points.

Dr. Le Dinh Tung, Deputy Head of Training Management Department, Hanoi Medical University, predicted that the admission score to Hanoi Medical University may be 1 to 2 points higher than in 2018.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the head of the school's training department also predicted that the standard scores for all majors of the school will likely increase compared to 2018, but will be lower than the score in 2017.
