Mr. Nguyen Van Hoanh shared: "Previously, our family mainly grew melons in greenhouses. However, surveys showed that grapes are quite expensive on the market, sold at high prices in supermarkets. With the desire to grow grapes to sell to rural markets at affordable prices, we made an effort to learn about the situation at several Black Ha grape vineyards in the central provinces."

Thanks to proper care and adherence to the growth process of the vines, primarily using organic fertilizers and supplementing with appropriate nutrients, the vineyard thrived from the very first harvest, producing many bunches of large, uniform grapes.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoanh, if the grapes grow well, they can be harvested twice a year, in spring-summer and autumn-winter. With over 4,000 square meters...²Each grape harvest yields over 3 tons of fruit, selling for 150,000 VND/kg, bringing the family approximately 200 to 300 million VND and providing stable employment for 3-5 local workers. Notably, the grapes have a very favorable market, mainly with visitors from all over coming to tour, experience, and purchase the product directly from the vineyard. Besides growing grapes, Mr. Hoành also maintains over 2,000 square meters of other land.²Growing melons in greenhouses is quite effective.

At the greenhouse vineyard of Mr. Le Xuan Hai in Hamlet 6, Xuan Thanh Commune, the harvest season is in full swing, attracting a constant stream of tourists who come to visit and experience the process. The owner personally guides visitors on how to cut grapes and introduces them to his family's vineyard.

Mr. Hai shared: "After researching other provinces and seeing the strong development of grape cultivation, I decided to build a grape farming model in my hometown, contributing to promoting safe agricultural development. Earlier this year, my family started a trial planting on 3,000 square meters."²Black Hạ grapes are grown in greenhouses, equipped with an irrigation system using Israeli technology.

Initial results from the Black Grape cultivation model show that the grapevines adapt well to the local natural conditions. When the technical procedures are properly applied, the plants grow and develop well, are less susceptible to pests and diseases, and yield high productivity and good quality.

Thanks to diligent research and learning, Mr. Le Xuan Hai's Ha Den grape vineyard is now in its peak harvest season, with each vine producing an average of 5-7 bunches of grapes, each bunch weighing 0.5-0.8 kg. The grapes are large, juicy, crisp, and sweet. This season's yield is estimated at around 2 tons, with a selling price of 150,000 VND/kg.

"Caring for Black Hạ grapes in the early stages is quite hard work. You have to prune the branches frequently so the plant will produce more flowers and fruit. When the young fruit appears, you have to thin it out to ensure the grape clusters are large, round, and uniform…," Mr. Hai added.

To ensure the Hạ Đen vineyard develops for high and sustainable economic efficiency, Mr. Hải also grows strawberries in greenhouses, creating a day-long experiential tourism model. This model both introduces and promotes the product while providing opportunities for tourists from within and outside the district to visit and take photos inside the greenhouse. This is a quick and effective way to promote the product's brand.

Currently, the entire district has 22 greenhouses, with a total area of ​​over 30,000 m².².

Each greenhouse receives 30% of its construction cost subsidized by the State. For a long time, these greenhouses have primarily been used for growing cantaloupe. In the future, the district will continue to encourage greenhouse owners to expand their grape cultivation and diversify their vegetable and fruit crops to increase economic value and contribute to the transformation of the local economic structure. Because the vegetables and fruits grown in greenhouses are entirely in substrates and use organic fertilizers, their quality is good and food safety is ensured, leading to good market demand.
