At the 23rd meeting held recently, the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity (Central Steering Committee) agreed to add the case of “Giving bribes; Receiving bribes; Bribery brokerage; Forgery in work” that occurred at the Vietnam Register and a number of registration centers to the list of cases being monitored and directed by the Steering Committee. This is the latest development in the case that the authorities have determined “is not petty corruption but systematic, organized, and large-scale.”

In practice, in the past 10 years, when the Central Steering Committee model was under the Politburo headed by the General Secretary, the fight against corruption and negativity has made strong and breakthrough progress, demonstrated through the numbers of party organizations and party members who committed violations and were punished, the number of cases and defendants prosecuted for corruption, or the amount of illicit money recovered each year was higher than the previous year.

In 2022 alone, nearly 540 party members were disciplined for corruption and intentional violations. The Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Inspection Commission disciplined 47 officials under the management of the Politburo and the Secretariat (an increase of 15 cases compared to the previous year).

The above results once again confirm the message: Preventing negative corruption will not "stop" or "rest".

Speaking to reporters, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Nguyen Thai Hoc said: “The trust of the people, the trust of cadres and party members in the leader of our Party in the fight against corruption and negativity is increasingly affirmed and promoted. The General Secretary plays the role of a conductor, a guide, and the soul of the fight against corruption and negativity. And this has been affirmed from practice over the past 10 years and the opinions and directives of the General Secretary in the past have shown that,” said Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc.

Recalling the saying of our Party leader: Only when we ourselves are clean can we fight corruption and negativity, the Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission said that the General Secretary is a person who speaks and acts, he speaks frankly, speaks truthfully, acts truthfully, acts cautiously, firmly, methodically, and is sure of what he does.

“To do that, the General Secretary himself is a model of integrity. Not only the General Secretary himself but also his family and relatives must demonstrate such integrity for people to believe. People not only believe in the work but also in the person,” Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc shared.

According to the Deputy Head of the Committee, the fight against corruption and negativity in recent times has achieved great and admirable results. The trust in the Party and the people in the work of purifying the Party is very high.

With the General Secretary's thoughts and guiding viewpoints systematized and compiled into books like answers and handbooks, our Party's fight against corruption and negativity will become an inevitable trend.

The goal of this fierce struggle is not only reflected in the number of Party organizations and Party members being punished, but the higher goal is to regain the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the State. And in fact, that trust is increasingly being strengthened when the results of handling cases and subjects of embezzlement and corruption "without forbidden areas, without exceptions, regardless of who that person is" are all agreed with and supported by the people.

Following the results of the meetings of the Central Inspection Committee or the meetings of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity, Major General Nguyen Duc Huy - a veteran revolutionary cadre expressed his great confidence in the Party's anti-corruption campaign: "Since the model of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity under the Politburo headed by the General Secretary, the people have seen a "new face" in the campaign to clean up the Party and clean up the ranks. Because never before have the people witnessed the Party's determination against "a not small number" of cadres who have degraded in political ideology, are corrupt, negative, and violate Party discipline and State laws".

Many cadres and party members believe that the task of purifying the Party will be arduous and complicated, so we must do it step by step, and make sure that each step is done.
