Joy and happiness, a good spring rice crop
(Baonghean.vn) -These days, taking advantage of favorable weather, farmers in most fields are urgently harvesting the spring crop and deploying the summer-autumn crop to ensure the right schedule.

The average yield is estimated to be over 67 quintals/ha with high-yield varieties such as Kinh So Uu, Thien Uu 8, Huong Uu 198... To achieve the target of planting 5,500 hectares of summer-autumn rice, Thanh Chuong has directed localities to harvest when the spring rice is 70% or more ripe. Up to now, over 50% of communes have harvested spring rice.
Along with the spring rice harvest, localities are currently preparing to plant summer-autumn seedlings; along with that, they are building banks, retaining water, and checking irrigation works to ensure summer-autumn production is on schedule. According to the plan, Thanh Chuong will finish harvesting spring rice in May, and finish sowing the summer-autumn crop around June 25. The district directs that the summer-autumn crop will be planted with short-term rice varieties that are resistant to pests and drought; arranged in areas with proactive water supply, converting high-yield rice areas or areas at the end of canals to grow other crops.

*Spring Rice Crop 2017, Dien ChauA good rice crop with an expected yield of about 7.2 tons/ha, 0.5 tons/ha higher than the previous spring crop; typically some hybrid rice varieties have outstanding yields such as Thai Xuyen 111, Huong Uu 98, Khai Phong I and purebred Vat Tu NA6.
Along with the spring rice harvest, Dien Chau farmers have also urgently sown 370 hectares of summer-autumn rice seedlings. At the same time, they have prepared over 4,600 tons of various fertilizers, ensured water sources, and are ready to sow and plant as soon as they are harvested, striving to complete the sowing of 9,300 hectares of summer-autumn rice by the end of May.
* Farmers of Nghi Loc districtEntering the spring peanut harvest. Fresh peanuts sold right in the field, each sao of peanuts, farmers earn from 4 to 4.5 million VND.
In the spring crop of 2017, Nghi Loc district had 2,900 hectares of peanuts. Currently, farmers are entering the harvest season; the yield is estimated at 6.5 tons/hectare, an increase of about 5 quintals/hectare compared to the previous crop.

This year, right from the beginning of the crop, Nghi Loc district has directed localities to restore L14 peanut varieties and cover 100% of the area with plastic. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang - Head of Nghi Loc Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: "Thanks to good guidance on crop timing, intensive farming techniques and especially promoting the restoration of L14 peanut varieties, this year's yield is quite high, 40 - 50 kg/sao higher than the previous crop. The district has directed people to both harvest spring peanuts and combine land preparation to prepare for summer-autumn production."
