Ninh Binh: Discover Thung Ui - the unique 'Phoenix Ancient Town' near Bai Dinh Pagoda.
Thung Ui is a new tourist destination in Ninh Binh that impresses with its unique ancient town architecture amidst the Trang An heritage site, and is expected to officially open to visitors during Tet 2026.
Thung Ui is a newly emerging tourist destination located within the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, in Tay Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province. Just about 3 km from Bai Dinh Pagoda, this location is becoming a focal point on social media platforms thanks to its ancient beauty, likened to a miniature "Phoenix Ancient Town" in the heart of the former imperial capital.

Unique spiritual architecture and traditional-style spaces.
Originally a valley surrounded by majestic limestone mountains, Thung Ui was previously little known to tourists. However, after systematic investment and development, the area has transformed into an impressive cultural and spiritual complex. The highlight of Thung Ui is its system of exquisite wooden architectural structures, perfectly harmonizing with the picturesque river landscape.
Here, a series of important structures have been restored and rebuilt, such as the Kính Thiên altar (believed to date back to the time of King Đinh), the Kính Địa, Kính Nhân, and Kính Trung palaces. The architecture, strongly influenced by classical Eastern styles with dragon-scale tiled roofs, large wooden columns, and meticulously carved details, gives visitors the feeling of stepping into a real historical film set.

Experience the culture amidst the natural beauty of Trang An.
Besides its spiritual structures, Thung Ui also preserves and recreates the distinctive living space of the indigenous Muong people through its traditional stilt houses. The combination of religious and ethnic cultural elements creates a rare and profound experience for those who love exploring heritage.

The infrastructure here is also developed in harmony with nature. Walking paths along the lake, wooden bridges spanning the river, and lush green landscapes create a picturesque scene. Especially at night, the entire area becomes enchanting and magical under the lights, highlighting the architectural details reflected on the calm water.

Practical information for visitors.
Although not yet officially open to the public, Thung Ui has already created a "check-in craze" among young people. Many tourists have arrived early to capture impressive photos before the destination becomes overcrowded.
