Gas explosion, 18,000 families in the US had to evacuate
About 8,000 people were unable to return to their homes in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, USA, after gas explosions occurred on September 13.
At least one person was killed, 12 injured and dozens of homes damaged in gas explosions in three Massachusetts towns on September 13. More than 18,000 homes and businesses lost power and thousands of people were forced to evacuate their homes.

Investigators said it is possible that the pressure at a gas station may have risen too high, leading to the fires and explosions on September 13. According to state police, up to 70 fires, explosions and gas leaks have been reported. The process of repairing the problem is expected to last for several days. Police are still investigating the cause of the explosions./.
