(Baonghean.vn) -Tam Hop Primary and Secondary School in Tuong Duong district is located near the Vietnam-Laos border. Currently, the school provides education at both primary and secondary levels with 418 students enrolled.
Due to numerous difficulties, the school has not yet organized meals for boarding students. Therefore, after each school day, the students return to their rented rooms and cook rice together. Each boarding student receives a government subsidy of 460,000 VND and 15 kg of rice per month. To ensure sufficient rice and money for the students to eat and study, Tam Hop Primary and Secondary School distributes the subsidy to students once a week. Tam Hop commune lacks a market, its economy is underdeveloped, and there is a shortage of food for the students; therefore, their daily meals mainly consist of white rice and green vegetables. Despite these hardships, the students here still strive to study with the dream of escaping poverty.
