Mr. Luu Van Nam's family in Dien Luc hamlet, Ky Son commune (Tan Ky) is focusing on planting 3.5 hectares of forest in the fall crop and taking care of more than 10 hectares of forest planted from 2 to 4 years old. Having been involved in the forest planting profession for more than 10 years, on a total area of more than 16 hectares, Mr. Nam grows acacia with a planning method of planting each area in between years, so almost every year the family has an area of forest ready for exploitation, bringing in income to cover their living expenses.

Many households in Tan Ky area raise tree seedlings to meet people's needs in reforestation. |
In reality, each hectare of acacia from planting to exploitation takes 5 years and brings in an income of 100 million VND, minus expenses, net profit is 60 million VND. On the hill, there is no tree that can replace acacia and in addition to planting forests, people also combine livestock raising to increase economic efficiency. If in previous years, his family had to pay for planting themselves, this year the forest protection and development project supported seedlings, fertilizers and technical guidance on planting and caring for 3.5 hectares of forest.
At present, after the rains, the soil moisture is sufficient for planting trees, so hundreds of households in the localities of Tan Ky district are focusing on planting more than 1,000 hectares of new forests for the Autumn crop, including 100 hectares of protective forests and 355 hectares of forests planted under the forest protection and development project. The remaining area is self-funded by the people.
To complete the plan, recently, Tan Ky District People's Committee has directed functional agencies and commune authorities with autumn forest planting plans to strengthen propaganda work to help people grasp the support policies of the protective forest planting program, forest protection and development project. At the same time, conduct field measurements, guide the technical process of digging holes, planting, caring for, and protecting forests for people.

More than 150 households in Tan Huong and Ky Son communes, which specialize in producing seedlings, have proactively nurtured millions of seedlings of various types to supply to people in and outside the district for autumn forest planting.
With favorable weather, up to now, Tan Ky people have closed more than 70% of the area and strive to complete the plan to plant 1,040 hectares of forest before October 20, 2016, while also doing a good job of taking care of more than 4,500 hectares of planted forests and protecting more than 25,000 hectares of forests of all kinds.
