Explosion at female teacher's house early morning on the second day of Tet

The explosion occurred at around 3am this morning, the 2nd day of Tet (February 17) at the house of Ms. O. (born 1973, lane 4, alley 11, Tran Phu street, Ha Tinh city).

According to neighbors, the whole residential area was shaken by the explosion coming from Ms. O's house.

The perpetrator of the incident was identified as D. (born in 1973, residing in Ha Huy Tap ward, Ha Tinh city).

"Subject D. used a car to crash the gate, then broke into the house, detonated a bomb in the stairwell, then rushed up to the house and set it on fire," said Mr. Q., a resident.

According to another neighbor, Ms. O. was not at home. Only Mr. Le Khac Ph. (51 years old, her husband's cousin) and Ms. O.'s two children were in the house. All three suffered concussions from the force of the explosion. Mr. Ph. is still being treated at the hospital.

Ha Tinh City Police and the Provincial Criminal Police Department arrived in time and arrested the suspect D.

After about 30 minutes of committing the crime, D. was arrested by the police while traveling on Vu Quang street.

Because the subject was also injured during the crime, he was taken by the police to the provincial hospital for treatment and guarded for investigation.

According to initial information, D. and O. had a romantic relationship. Due to conflicts, since the 30th of Tet, D. forced O. to go with D. for many days.

On the evening of the 1st and the morning of the 2nd, when Ms. O. was able to escape, D. came to her house to commit the crime.

Ms. O. is a teacher in Thach Ha district, married with 2 children. Her husband has been living in the South for many years.

The incident is being investigated by the police.
