Pressure cooker explosion kills one person, injures four others.

At approximately 8:00 AM on January 17th, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Toan (47 years old, residing in Binh Trung 1 village, Van Binh commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province) was releasing the water valve from a pressure cooker used for making rice paper when the cooker suddenly exploded, killing Mr. Toan instantly.

Four other people, including Truong Thi Bich Lieu (Mr. Toan's wife), Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Pham Anh Quoc, and Vo Duy Hung (all employees of Mr. Toan's family), were injured and had to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The pressure cooker Mr. Toan used was about 1.5 meters tall and over 1 meter in diameter, and it was old. When the incident occurred, the explosion sounded like a bomb blast, and many people sitting inside the house were thrown backward.

At the scene, Mr. Toan's family's rice paper making facility was almost completely destroyed, and many surrounding houses had broken walls, with bricks and tiles scattered everywhere.

Local authorities provided 1 million VND to the family of the deceased and 500,000 VND to the family of the injured.
