Shooting, carrying swords to kill in broad daylight
A group of nearly 20 young men boldly opened fire and carried swords into a resident's house in Thanh Hoa around noon on August 20, shooting people and smashing two cars, injuring one person.
The above incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on August 20, 2016, at the home of Mr. Trinh Ngoc Dinh (born in 1971), residing in Yen Khang village, Quang Yen commune, Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province.
According to Mr. Dinh, at that time, he was lying in the house when he heard someone calling him. He ran out and saw nearly 20 young men standing at the door holding many knives, swords, and machetes. “At that time, the group of young men asked, "Where is Hung "Quy"?". Seeing that, I immediately said that if there was anything, come in and talk. However, the group did not come in but used knives to smash and slash the family's two cars parked outside the gate," said Mr. Dinh.

Seeing someone vandalizing the family car, Mr. Dinh's family ran out and shouted, then a young man in the group pulled out a gun and fired several shots at Mr. Dinh's family, causing Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thanh (born in 1980, Mr. Dinh's younger brother) to be shot in the thigh. Not stopping there, before getting in the car and running away, the group of young men threw many sharp knives into Mr. Dinh's house.
A neighbor next to Mr. Dinh's house recounted: "At that time, I was sitting in the house when I heard loud shouting. I thought something was wrong with Mr. Dinh's family. I ran out and saw the group of young men smashing the car and one of them was holding a gun and firing two shots.
Mr. Dinh said that the images of people breaking into the car and shooting and injuring his brother were recorded by a camera.
“Among them, I recognized a person named Cuong “Lai” and Giang “Do” (residing in Quang Xuong district), Ngoc “Co” (residing in Thanh Hoa city). I also don’t know if Mr. Hung (Bui Ngoc Hung, driver for Mr. Dinh’s family - PV) had any conflicts with those young men, but my family has no grudge against those people” - Mr. Dinh affirmed.

Immediately after the incident, Quang Xuong District Police quickly arrived at the scene to coordinate with local authorities and the family to investigate and clarify the incident.
