Artist Thanh Duong has participated in many famous plays such as: Caucasian Chalk Circle, Doll House, The 9th Oath, The 2000-Day Case, All Are My Children, Who Is The Judge... and has also appeared in many films from Going to the South and the North, The Young Man Comes Home for Tet, Tro Doi to Song Mai Voi Thu Do, Cua De Danh... He was awarded the Comedian of the Year award in 2004 by readers of VietNamNet newspaper.

Not sad because of failing to be a meritorious artist

Born into an artistic family, Thanh Duong was exposed to the stage from a young age. Every time he went to stage plays for troupes, Thanh Duong's father took him along, so drama got into his blood without him even realizing it.

Thanh Duong joined the Youth Theater in 1989 and has been working there for nearly 30 years. When he joined the Youth Theater, he was the youngest in the troupe and at present Thanh Duong is the oldest actor. Many people have given up their careers because life is too difficult, but with his love for the stage and the support of his family, Thanh Duong is still attached to the profession he loves.

By carefully researching each role, big or small, every time he acts in a movie, every time he steps on stage, Thanh Duong is like a happy note, bringing a fresh atmosphere to the role. As soon as he opens his mouth, the audience bursts into laughter.

Although he is lively on stage, Thanh Duong is a very reserved person in real life. Because he is not good at speaking, he is also shy in the press and shy to share. Audiences who meet him on the street say they love Thanh Duong's roles, that he acts very charmingly and naturally, but honestly can't remember his name. This makes Thanh Duong think. But for him, the love that the audience and colleagues have given him over the years is a great happiness.

In the recent round of awarding the title of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist, Thanh Duong was nominated by the Youth Theater and was also on the list of Meritorious Artists at the Ministry level, but at the Professional Council (for unknown reasons), Thanh Duong did not have enough votes. He was not sad because being recognized is a happy thing for an artist, but not being recognized does not mean that he still has to try harder. "Love the profession, the profession will not fail", Thanh Duong always thinks so.

Don't give your wife a chance to be jealous.

Few people know that Thanh Duong has won two national gold medals in dancing since the 1980s. While performing and teaching dance, one day Thanh Duong "fell in love" with a student who loved dancing.

After falling in love and getting married, Thanh Duong accepted to give up his passion for dancing and focus on acting to make his wife feel at ease. His wife is not in the same profession, so it is difficult to understand each other's work, so he always takes the initiative to make sure his wife "does not have a chance to be jealous". If the movie even has a kissing scene, he will tell his wife in advance.

Thanh Duong confided that his wife understands and sympathizes with her husband's job, so even after 26 years together, they still maintain a happy family.

Thanh Duong boasts that he is confident in his ability to cook and enjoys going to the market with his basket. His children love the food their father cooks. That is why Thanh Duong spends all day in the kitchen.

Beef noodle soup is Thanh Duong's favorite dish, and he also claims that he cooks it extremely well. Many friends and relatives ask: why don't you open a restaurant when you can cook such delicious pho?

For him, being an artist or any other profession is just to make a living, enough is enough. What could be happier than having 2 good children and a wife who knows how to give in at the right time.
