Russia's new cabinet: 10 new Deputy Prime Ministers and 22 new Ministers
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 18, Russian President Putin officially approved the list of personnel and the structure of the new government as proposed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Accordingly, the new cabinet includes 10 Deputy Prime Ministers and 22 Ministers.

Four out of ten Deputy Prime Ministers retained their positions. Among them, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov became First Deputy Prime Minister.

Notably, former Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, 59, who was at the center of criticism over allegations of doping among Russian athletes, was appointed to the position of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of regional construction and development.
In this new term, Sergei Lavrov and Sergei Shoigu continue to enjoy the trust of their respective foreign ministers and defense ministers of Russia. Having served as minister for over 20 years, 62-year-old Sergei Shogu is still considered a contributor of many innovative ideas to the modernization of the Russian military. Prior to becoming Defense Minister in 2012, from 1994 to 2012, Shoigu held the position of Minister of Defense, Emergency Response and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation.
Sergei Lavrov, 68, appointed Russian Foreign Minister in 2004, is a talented diplomat who consistently takes a firm stance, defending Russia's position on the international stage, and is respected internationally.
It is evident that most key positions in the previous government remain in office, accompanying President Putin in this new term. Expressing confidence in the government apparatus, President Putin emphasized: “They are all renowned individuals with extensive experience and who have performed their assigned duties well. This is demonstrated by their effective management of various sectors, helping the country overcome many challenges.”
The first official meeting with the ministers will take place in Saint Petersburg on May 25-26.
