(Baonghean.vn) - The impact of consecutive storms and rains accompanied by flash floods in recent times has caused people in Lang Yen village to(Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district), where dozens of temporary bridges are extremely worried.
In recent times, the impact of storms and sudden heavy rains has made the road from Nam Son village to Lang Yen village even more miserable. The road surface has long been peeling off and is now full of potholes.

Yen Village is a Thai community in the border commune of Mon Son; it is one of the three most difficult villages in terms of traffic in the whole commune. There are dozens of temporary bridges built by the people themselves along the road and shortcuts in the village. It takes Yen Village residents nearly half an hour to ride a motorbike 7 km on the road connecting to the center of Mon Son commune (Con Cuong).

The villagers mainly live along the banks of the Giang River, so transportation is isolated. Recently, two suspension bridges have been built, which has partly solved the transportation problems in this Thai village.
However, temporary bridges are still very important to the residents here. If just a few are washed away after a big flood, the whole village will be almost completely isolated. Lang Yen village is surrounded by rivers and streams on all four sides. Meanwhile, the area has steep terrain, so it is often affected by floods that often occur suddenly and sweep away temporary bridges.

There is no longer a bridge to cross, after the flood, people started cutting down wood to rebuild the bridge. The village has two young family clubs that operate as inter-family groups. After the storms and floods, these groups call each other to repair the bridge. "In years with many storms and floods, we build bridges 7 or 8 times. In years with few storms and floods, we build bridges 3 or 4 times." - Mr. Lo Van Ky, Party Cell Secretary and head of a Young Family Club in Lang Yen village shared.
Since the beginning of the year, the bridge has been repaired five times in the area. The first time was in April, followed by three storms No. 2, No. 4, No. 10 and two heavy rains. Each time, the temporary bridge was washed away. "It's tiring just to build a temporary bridge here," complained Mr. Lo Van Cong, Secretary of the Youth Union of Lang Yen village.
After storm No. 10, temporary bridges that had been built not long before were swept away by floods. Once again, people were busy rebuilding the bridges.
Mr. Lo Van Ky added: Recently, people in the village have been very active in finding ways to escape poverty. However, the difficulty in transportation has not been resolved, so agricultural products such as acacia trees, pigs and chickens have encountered difficulties in output and have been forced down in price by traders.
