In a statement published in the "Telegraph" newspaper, Mr. Johnson said that the British Government had not fully prepared for possible scenarios after the historic referendum on June 23, especially when the Brexit side won.

Despite holding a referendum with two options, the government is not prepared to guide the people in case they choose the current Brexit scenario.

Mr. Johnson also said that a part of the British people, who supported Britain remaining in the EU, were currently agitated and the government needed to be responsible for explaining to them the truth about the impacts of Brexit.

According to the former Mayor of London, concerns about the impact of Brexit are "overblown", the stock market cannot actually collapse and warnings of higher taxes or deeper government spending cuts will not happen as Finance Minister George Osborne once said.

Mr. Johnson even affirmed that Britain will continue to play a leading role in Europe in the fields of security and intelligence, and concluded that "the future of Britain is indeed very bright."

Mr. Johnson emphasized that making people understand the true nature and positive aspects of Brexit needs to be done right now, not waiting until mid-September when the UK has a new Prime Minister.

Mr. Johnson is a politician of the ruling Conservative Party and is expected to replace Prime Minister David Cameron. However, last week, he suddenly announced that he would not participate in the race to become the new British Prime Minister.

He will be replaced by Justice Secretary Michael Gove in the Brexit camp. Cameron's successor will be chosen by the Conservative Party and take office in September and is expected to be tasked with leading Britain out of the EU.

Mr. Johnson's statement was made in the context of pro-EU, anti-Brexit protests taking place across the UK. People in many big cities such as London, Manchester, Brighton... poured into the streets chanting slogans in support of the EU./.
