Training of border cadres
(Baonghean) - These days, along with the joy of welcoming the Teachers' Charter Day, generations of teachers and students of Que Phong High School also have the joy of looking forward to the 50th anniversary of its founding. Many memories suddenly come back, the hardships and difficulties of the past have now become a source of motivation to strive and mature, contributing to building a peaceful and prosperous border land of Que Phong.
Born during the fierce war, the US imperialists escalated their attacks on the North, the country faced many difficulties, but under the leadership of the young Party cell and Principal Hoang Xuan Luyen, followed by Mr. Lo Van Thai, teachers and students went into the forest to cut wood, cut leaves, dig the ground, level the yard to build classrooms made of bamboo and thatch to hide under the canopy of the old forest, both to avoid bombs and bullets while teachers and students diligently studied the words. The first course yielded "sweet fruit" with 27 high school graduates, including 1 excellent student at the provincial level, Lu Minh An, and 3 students passing the university entrance exam.

The war entered a fierce phase, the need for support for the battlefield grew larger and larger. At that time, the school had 7 teachers and 168 students who temporarily put down their books and pens, said goodbye to school to join the army to fight the Americans.
There were students who fought bravely and heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The teachers and brothers will forever be shining examples of patriotism, the pride of the school and the people of all ethnic groups in Que Phong district.
Wherever they are, in whatever position they hold, generations of students of the school always uphold the fine tradition, contributing more and more effort and intelligence to the cause of protecting and building the country. Up to now, the number of former students of the school has 4 PhDs, many people have master's, university and college degrees; many people are lecturers at universities and colleges and many others have been and are taking on important responsibilities at the local, provincial and central levels, many students are successful businessmen.
Over the past 50 years, from the cradle of Que Phong High School, the team of teachers has continuously studied, strived and devoted themselves. From the passion for the career of educating people, from the love for their homeland Que Phong, many teachers have matured in professional capacity, management capacity and political courage, becoming managers, leaders and professional core staff.
Currently, there are 45 former students of the school who are heads and deputy heads of departments and offices at public service units; more than 20 of them are key officials in communes and towns and more than 20 of them are educational managers at schools inside and outside the district. They are the next generation of leaders of agencies, public service units and the armed forces. There are 48 students returning to their old school, following in the footsteps of their predecessors, contributing to building and continuing the history of the school. Among them, there are people who have grown up and shouldered important responsibilities such as: Lo Van Ngo, Tu Thi Van, Nguyen Hong Tu,... These students have become and are becoming the key force to improve the quality of the school day by day.
In recent years, with the policy of developing the quality of education in depth, the school has had dozens of students winning First, Second, and Third prizes for excellent students at the provincial level. In particular, in the 2016-2017 school year, two students, Tao Que Trang and Nguyen Thi Hoai Thanh, won Second Prize in the Contest of Applying Interdisciplinary Knowledge to Solve Practical Problems, and were awarded Third Prize by the Department of Education and Training in the Science and Technology Innovation Contest for high school students in Nghe An province. This will be an important milestone for teachers and students of the school in the period of integration and development.
Mr. Lu Dinh Thi - Secretary of Que Phong District Party Committee, also a former student of the school shared: "With the achievements in the past 50 years, we believe that in the new journey, Que Phong High School will achieve many more achievements, truly a place to build the future for children of ethnic groups in the area. The school has truly become a common home with so much pride for generations of teachers and students".
