(Baonghean.vn)In order to restore, preserve, and promote the traditional cultural beauty of Nghe An folk songs, Anh Son district has recently established a folk singing club in Hoa Son commune, which is the first folk singing club in Anh Son district.

The folk singing and playing club of Hoa Son commune mainly consists of members from the village's performing arts groups. The club has over 20 members who are passionate about and talented in folk singing, regularly enriching the spiritual life of the villagers with their singing and playing. With 100% being "village artists," the club members are all closely connected to the fields. Except for busy harvest days, they practice together in the evenings, overcoming difficulties to create new songs and share experiences, learning from each other.

At the Hoa Son Commune Folk Song Club, the oldest member is Mr. Le Van Hieu, 84 years old, and the youngest is Nguyen Thi Quynh, 8 years old. Most members participate voluntarily, enthusiastically, and responsibly. To ensure the club's effectiveness, monthly meetings are organized like a professional art unit, with each member assigned specific tasks. Thanks to the well-structured schedule, despite the members' busy work schedules, they participate regularly, maintaining meetings 2-3 times a week.

Recently, the Hoa Son Commune Folk Song Club was recognized by the Provincial Cultural and Sports Center as having met the standards for building a cultural model and was presented with a set of traditional musical instruments including: two-stringed fiddle, flute, moon-shaped lute, drum, zither, guitar... In September of this year, at the first Nghe An Folk Song Club Festival in 2011, the Hoa Son Commune Folk Song Club won a first prize with the Nghe An folk song "Following the words of the Leader to beautify the Hong Lam land", a second prize with the traditional instrumental ensemble piece "Planting trees to remember the Leader", and received an encouragement award for the entire delegation.

To achieve that success, in addition to the efforts of the club's management board and members, there was also the attention and encouragement of the local Party committee and government, not only in terms of material support but also in terms of morale.

The Hoa Son Commune Folk Song Club has become a beneficial and healthy platform, contributing to improving the quality of grassroots cultural and artistic activities. Through this, it preserves and promotes the rich folk culture with strong national identity, reviving the traditional folk singing movement among all segments of the population, meeting the cultural needs of the new era, and fulfilling the goal of returning folk songs to the people.
