Hot: 100,000 National Guard troops considered for deployment in the US
(Baonghean.vn) - The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering deploying about 100,000 National Guard troops to handle illegal immigrants. This is information published by the US news agency AP on February 17.

The AP published an 11-page memo calling for an unprecedented deployment of military forces to address immigration. However, if implemented, the governments of 11 states with large immigrant populations would have the final say on the actual number of troops deployed. There are currently more than 5.5 million illegal immigrants living in these 11 states.
The memorandum, written by US Department of Homeland Security Director John Kelly, covers four states bordering Mexico – Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, but extends north to four more adjacent states – Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Oregon.
However, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer denied the above transcript, calling it “100% false.”
The proposal came as Russia responded to Trump’s 75-minute press conference on February 16 by ordering state television to stop showing the new US president, the latest sign that Moscow is skeptical about the potential for improved relations with Washington under Trump.

During the press conference, Mr. Trump accused the media of deliberately sabotaging his efforts to re-establish friendly relations with his Russian counterpart Putin.
It can be seen that the new US President is trying to realize as many of his election promises as possible, by signing executive orders, including the project to build a border wall between the US and Mexico and banning people from 7 Muslim-majority countries from entering the US.
