Nghe An farmers receive $10,000 in support to develop orange products

The loan support amount will be officially transferred by Thriive in the first phase (from November 10 to 15) through a representative of a typical business unit in Quy Hop district.
Thriive is a cooperative program between the Center for Development Economics Studies (CEDS), the University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Thriive Organization, USA, to support small businesses with interest-free loans to purchase machinery and production equipment, develop their business and enhance social responsibility.

The purpose of the loan is to help businesses grow, create jobs and do charity work for the community. The loan is repaid within 2 years by providing free products/services of the business with a value equivalent to the original loan.
From 2005 to present, through the Thriive program in Hanoi, 116 businesses have received loans totaling 1.16 million USD. The project has helped create jobs for more than 1,400 workers and nearly 120,000 poor people in 24 northern provinces have received charitable products and services from the program.

In Nghe An, a typical enterprise in developing orange products, Vinh Ky Yen Orange Enterprise, has officially become a Thriive Enterprise this year, with a loan support of 10,000 USD to buy machines and equipment to make processed products from oranges.
This contributes to building and developing the Orange brand in a more professional and secure way, no longer manual, not too dependent on the weather. At the same time, it helps farmers increase the value of orange trees, prolong the life of orange trees, reduce costs and increase income for farmers, and reduce environmental pollution.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Na, owner of Cam Ky Yen production facility, the only unit in the area supported by Thriive, said that the enterprise was very happy to hear this information. In the coming time, the enterprise will commit to using the loan capital effectively with Thriive, first of all, to buy MSD 3000 heat pump dryers, cold storage systems and provide technical support for 25 orange farmers who are poor households, in difficult circumstances, single women, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities; at the same time, organize skills training classes for a number of cadres and specialized students.
