Realizing the potential and value of Con Cuong oranges, with the support of the Vietnam Agricultural Research Institute and the Japanese JICA project, 5 orange growing households in Pha village, Yen Khe commune were transferred technology for processing orange products. The processing facility was established under the management of the orange production group and orange specialties according to clean processes.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Dung, a member of the specialty orange production team in Yen Khe - Bong Khe Con Cuong said: The family has been trained in producing disease-free oranges, from now on they have a new job, making use of oranges, the product has become known to many people, especially ensuring food safety and hygiene, so at first everyone is happy.

Mr. Tang Ngoc Son, head of the specialty orange production team, added: Jica supports the group with signs, orange picking bags, orange picking baskets in the ecological orange garden, invests in wine filters, wine mixing tools, bottle capping machines, date stamping machines, orange peel dryers, etc. to make the products. The first time approaching a new way of doing things, everyone is surprised but very excited.

With closed technology from Japan, products processed from clean oranges including orange peel jam, orange wine, orange wine, orange soap, orange essential oil, orange syrup... have been successful and considered premium, high-quality products. The products are sold directly at the factory and introduced at the Nghe An Investor Meeting in February 2017.

To have such delicious products, orange growers in Con Cuong have had to proactively apply scientific and technical advances to produce delicious oranges that are safe for food hygiene. They grow oranges according to VietGAP standards with Valencia and Van Du varieties, with orange yields reaching about 25 tons/ha.

Households investing in drip irrigation systems and using biological products and plant protection drugs all comply with technical procedures.
