Nghe An farmers successfully planted 3-kernel red peanuts for the first time
(Baonghean.vn) - The first time it was tested on Dien Chau land (Nghe An), the 3-kernel red peanut variety achieved a yield of up to 2 quintals/sao, 20% higher than other peanut varieties.
The 3-seed red peanut variety was planted experimentally on 1 hectare in hamlet 4, Dien An commune in the spring crop; intensive cultivation according to VietGAP, applying plastic covering measures to keep soil moisture, limit pests and weeds, so the red peanuts grew well.

After 3 and a half months of planting, farmers in Hamlet 4, Dien An are now harvesting peanuts. Red peanuts produce many tubers, each plant has an average of 20 tubers, each tuber has 3-4 kernels, and has a beautiful red color.
Ms. Cao Thi Sau, a farmer participating in the model, said: Intensive cultivation of red peanuts is no different from traditional peanut varieties. All the produced varieties are purchased. Compared with other peanut fields, the yield of red peanuts is up to 20kg/sao higher.

After the project was implemented, 20 households in the hamlet participated in the model. For the first time, we saw large peanuts with many good characteristics: delicious, thin shell, large kernel. Farmers were very excited, currently focusing on harvesting and drying for the North Central Institute of Science and Technology to purchase. According to the assessment, the spring red peanut crop in Dien An yielded 200 kg of dry peanuts/sao, 20-30 kg/sao higher than other varieties.
