The reason for such a profit is because growing cabbage on 1 sao only requires less than 1 million VND in seeds and fertilizer.

“My family has 4 sao of land, before Tet we sold 2 sao of cabbage for 10,000 VND/head, earning nearly 40 million VND. Today we harvested 1 sao, and we plan to harvest the remaining 1 sao of cabbage in a few days, which is also the end of the season. This winter crop, my family earned about 70 million VND. With this selling price, it is very rare to get it,” said Mr. Do Van Tam.
Mr. Le The Hieu - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Chau district said: Last winter crop, farmers in the district planted 1,200 hectares of winter vegetables, concentrated in the communes of Dien Phong, Dien Thanh, Dien Trung, Dien Thinh... In addition to the products that have been exported by businesses,production link, product consumption, vegetables such as cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower, tomatoes... all sell at good prices, on average 1 hectare brings in 160 - 200 million VND, minus expenses, the profit is over 140 million VND.

The coastal area of Quynh Luu district is the vegetable granary of the whole province, this winter crop is also considered a success in terms of income.
