Rarely has the winter crop of kohlrabi and cabbage been priced like this. Calculating, 1 sao of land planted with 1,800 - 2,000 heads, will bring in 9 - 10 million VND. The reason for such profit is because planting cabbage on 1 sao only requires less than 1 million VND for seeds and fertilizer.

“My family has 4 sao of land. Before Tet, we sold 2 sao of cabbage for 10,000 VND/head, earning nearly 40 million VND. Today we harvested 1 sao, and we plan to harvest the remaining 1 sao of cabbage in a few days, which is also the end of the season. This winter crop, our family earned about 70 million VND in profit. With this selling price, it is very rare to get it,” said Mr. Do Van Tam.

Mr. Le The Hieu - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Chau district said: Last winter crop, farmers in the district planted 1,200 hectares of winter vegetables, concentrated in the communes: Dien Phong, Dien Thanh, Dien Trung, Dien Thinh... In addition to the products that have been exported by businesses,production links, with product consumption, vegetables such as cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower, tomatoes... are all sold at good prices, on average 1 hectare brings in 160 - 200 million VND, minus expenses, the profit is over 140 million VND.

The coastal area of ​​Quynh Luu district is the vegetable granary of the whole province, this winter crop is also considered a success in terms of income. Ms. Vu Thi Bich Hang - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quynh Luu district said: It must be said that in the last winter crop, farmers had to struggle with the continuous rainy and flooded weather, many families had to invest in seeds to plant and replant. However, the result is that vegetables have good prices, especially before Tet. Products that sell for high prices include tomatoes, cauliflower, cabbage...
