French farmers flocked to Paris to protest.
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 3rd, more than 1,000 tractors and 49 buses from the Brittany and Normandy regions, along with 1,500 tractors and approximately 4,000-5,000 farmers from the Loire, Bourgogne, and Rhone-Alpes regions, traveled to Paris to express their anger at the government due to falling prices and surplus agricultural products.

Following a call from the French agricultural union, thousands of farmers and thousands of tractors from across the country gathered at the Vincennes Gate in southeastern Paris. The farmers stated they would not return until they received satisfactory answers in a meeting with the authorities. It is understood that a delegation of farmers, accompanied by dozens of tractors, had arrived at Parliament to meet with Prime Minister Manuel Valls.
The French agricultural union said the farmers' protest was aimed at putting pressure on the government ahead of the special summit of European Union agriculture ministers, proposed by France, on September 7th. According to Beulin Xavier, the union's general secretary, the 600,000 euros the government offered in its July 22nd plan to address farmers' financial difficulties is insufficient. Beulin argued that an investment of 3 billion euros is needed to help the French agricultural sector catch up with Germany.
Currently, negotiations between the government and the union are still ongoing. And although no one wants to disrupt traffic, the presence of thousands of tractors traveling at 35 km/h has hampered traffic flow on many highways leading into the capital.
