The alluvial land along the Lam River, passing through Anh Son and Con Cuong districts, is thousands of hectares wide. Due to the annual alluvial deposits, people grow corn with high productivity, with 3 crops per year.
Mr. Ha Van Duc in hamlet 7, Cam Son commune, Anh Son district said: His family has 2 sao of land along the river, growing 3 crops of corn a year, but the winter corn crop is the most favorable, because the land has just been deposited with a certain amount of alluvium, then the weather is stable, there is no more rain and flooding.

Mr. Dang Dinh Luan - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Anh Son district said: Anh Son district has 1,500 hectares of alluvial land along the Lam River in the communes: Thanh Son, Cam Son, Tam Son, Dinh Son, Tho Son... of which the largest is Tam Son with 210 hectares, Cam Son with 125 hectares. At this time, people are going to the fields to prepare the land, sowing winter corn, with new corn varieties: PH 311, CP111... Thanks to good alluvial soil, winter corn grown on this alluvial land in previous years achieved a yield of over 48 quintals/ha.

Farmers in Con Cuong district are also preparing the land to sow winter corn at this time. However, due to the impact of the recent flood, many areas of alluvial land were buried by rocks and soil, making it impossible to sow.
According to the district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Con Cuong district has 300 hectares of alluvial land along the Lam River. During the recent flood, 60 hectares were buried by rocks, making it impossible for people to grow winter crops. The remaining 240 hectares are being prepared by people and will be planted with corn in the near future./.
