With the failure at the recent U.U23 Asian Cup, coach Toshiya Miura has been under a lot of pressure from football experts, fans and the Vietnamese media. The future of the Japanese coach born in 1963 has been a hot topic in Vietnamese football for a long time.

In the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee this morning, January 28, 11/16 members of the Executive Committee agreed to terminate the contract.ahead of schedule with Coach Miura after General Secretary Le Hoai Anh reported on the preparations for the U.23 Asian Cup and the preparations for the national teams in the coming time. Also in this meeting, Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation made very straightforward statements and outlined a new direction for the national team in the coming time. Mr. Duc especially emphasized that the National Coaching Council needs to demonstrate its role in selecting and coaching the national team.
