Flower farmers earn 400 million VND/year in Hoang Mai
(Baonghean.vn) - The highland in village 1, where rice and other crops have been grown for generations without high economic efficiency, has been planted with lilies and chrysanthemums by Mr. Le Tran Phuc, in village 1, Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town, for high income.
Mr. Phuc said that to make the model successful, he first built an automatic irrigation system, applied science and technology to planting and caring, from selecting flower varieties to soil preparation and fertilization. The flowers grow quickly, are not affected by pests and diseases, have large flowers, bright colors, and high productivity.

Up to now, he has expanded the flower growing area to nearly 7000m2.2He also introduced some new flower varieties such as sunflowers, yellow trumpet vine... As for lilies, which are difficult to grow, he invested in shading nets and lighting.
Sharing his experience in growing lilies, Mr. Phuc said: To make lilies bloom at the right time during holidays and Tet, in addition to choosing the right variety and taking care of them properly, it is necessary to arrange a suitable planting schedule. If the weather is warm, the flowers are likely to bloom early and there must be a technique to slow down the blooming.

By switching from growing rice and inefficient crops to growing flowers, Mr. Phuc's family has gradually become rich. On average, after deducting expenses, his family earns a profit of 300-400 million VND per year, while creating regular jobs for 5 workers with an income of 3-5 million VND/month.
